Request for meercat vs. navigator pix

#1

Post by keen »

Would anyone be able to post an image showing a meercat and navigator side-by-side? I'm curious about the relative sizes, and have had trouble finding both of these in my area.

Thanks in advance!

keen,
Per your request...The FRN Meerkat is the upper knife in the first image and shown with the G10 Navigator.

Navigator variants have the same outline shape, however they have different handles. The lower images shows some examples I have found. Looking carefully, you'll notice that the width of the blades between these two models is different; the Navigator is slightly slimmer...look at the curve on the upper part of the blade. Also, notice that the edge grind is different on these knive models. Look where the blades meet the handle; the angle where the grind stops is different.

Collect them all.........

Thanks for the pictures and detailed comparison, Sharp1. (Thanks for the welcome, Carlos.) I will probably buy the meercat for now and get the navigator later. Does anyone know if the VG-10 navigator is available, yet? Also...Sal, is there any chance that the meercat will be available in a higher quality steel like VG-10, ATS-34, or 154CM, soon? I'd be willing to pay up to twice as much.

Thanks for the forum, Sal...great idea!

Tha Navigator is already being made in VG-10. The Meerkat is a price point knife so you probably won't see it in an exotic steel.
