Which discontinued knives would you see in the catalog again???

#1

Post by Zozo*HC* »

I was watching the collections of the forum members, and i saw a lot of "old" :spyder: what i would love to be manufactured. What disco'd knife would you like to own guys, or see in the next catalog??

For me the list:
:spyder: Ronin
:spyder: Yojimbo Black\Blue
:spyder: Lil'Temprance
:spyder: Police G10
:spyder: Rookie SS and G10
:spyder: Cricket FRN
:spyder: Native I Black Plain
:spyder: Dodo Black\Blue

Well I had some folks malign me because of my passion for some of the older models. But there are a few models that I personally would love to see make a comeback. It's truly unfortunate and even somewhat of a mystery that there are certain Spyders that just didn't attain a full appreciation until they did get deleted. Here are a few I personally would like to see back in the line up some day.
(1) C-44 big Dyad
(2) C-60 Massad Ayoob
(3) C-46 Bob Lum tanto folder
(4) C-77 Spyderhawk
(5) C-58 JD Smith
(6) C-80 Dodo
(7) C-56 Zowada
(8) C-08 G-10 Harpy
(9) FB05 Temperance
(10) C-54 big Calypso
Just to name a few. These models in particular I just don't feel got out the gate quick enough. During what I call the GOLDEN ERA of Spyders I think that there was so much fierce in house competition that a lot of them just got passed over for price difference, availability and some were just hard to obtain for what ever reason. But those models sure are coveted now.
Long Live the SPYDEREDGE Spyderco Hawkbills RULE!!

Have all the discontinued model I really want. Would love to see the C83 Persian and the all stainless Kiwi returned to the catalog. But, I neither need, nor could I afford, to buy enough of them to make it worth Spyderco's while. So I accept the fact that they, like all the other discontinued models, were poor sellers.

None, as the "feature" of a discontinued knife is the discontinuation :)

Paul, I'm sorry for the confusion - I made a typo. Only the first BlackHawk models were available with Alu, but not the Renegade - I'm sure you already know this.

Will correct my typo now :)
