How much do you spend on knives per Year?
How much do you spend on knives per Year?
I was just interested in how much everybody spent on knives every year in total. Il make this a poll. Its kind of interesting and it doesn't only have to be Spyderco's, all types of knives.
The poll is not public, so dot be embarrassed.

Dude there is no way I can spend more than about $300 per year on knives. I can spend about $100 give or take about every 3-4 months.
That's why I sell a lot of my stuff off so that I can experience other knives. I either trade or sell knives that I have and don't use so that I can buy other knives.
It's gonna be a good 8 months or so before I get to buy something else. :)

I only recently really got into collecting more Spydercos....but in the last few months, I added a Endura 4, a Rescue 93, a Police, a Ladybug II, and a Jester. Also added a Byrd Cara Cara, Sog Paratool, and a few Buck Odyssey knives to my collection.
I had placed an order for 2 police, 2 enduras, a military, the ladybug II and jester, but they were no longer in stock, so I only got what was left in stock. They were very good prices though...lets just say that...and I wish I could have obtained all of the knives I ordered at the price I ordered them for....
Anyway, I still fully expect to get a number of other knives in the near future, though mostly for carrying and not for collecting. Among them would be an EDC hawkbill (in addition to the rescue 93, ladybug II, and jester I carry), a military, and I am on the lookout for a large dyad, rookie, manix, and a number of delica/endura 3/4's, at least one with zdp-189.
However, since I do have plenty of knives I can and do use for EDC as it is, my getting these knives will be of lesser importance to me than that of photo gear - which is my profession as well as a hobby....albeit an extremely expensive one...

Ditto for me, but replace sebenze and strider with Busse :eek:BOK wrote:I've been pretty sporadic from year to year.
Some years I spend around 500 and others it goes right up to around 3000 dollars or more.
The whole Sebenza and Strider phase is what really put it over the top for me.
For this year its been well under 500 so far.
This year I am definitely under $1000 and maybe under $500

Just in the past year I've spent about $5K. I don't know what's got into me. But I'm winding down now as I've got pretty much what knives that interest me. It's the dang collections I need to complete that's draining my financial resources. But it's a good hobby that I enjoy.
It's better to have knife and not need it than to need a knife and not have it.
