Swick/SPOT Replacement?

#1

Is there one in the works? Perhaps a Perrin collab? Something like the Bifold, but fixed. BTW, I'm aware of the MULE, but it looks like you have to create your own handles.

I would be surprised if it did. The response to the Swick was rather tepid. Folks really missed out on that one.
Follow the mushin, but pay it no heed.

Yes they did miss out on the Swick. My favorite desktop letter opener :)

It is fun to spin on my finger and can even at times help me think better. ;)
How's that for a selling point. Bought mine while passing through Golden on the way back from a very good skiing trip with my family. The Swick helps me remember that trip - from hot tubbing in the snow to watching the fireworks on the slopes... :D

I guess you might be able to redo one of the H1 dive knives, although from what I've heard about grinding H1, I'm not sure it'd be possible. If it is, I guess someone like Tom Krein would be your best bet.

The SWICK: truly overlooked and under appreciated

Not only was the Swick a Golden Colorado Spyder but it had a lot more appeal than the SPOT did. The SPOT was a kind of a neat little novelty knife. The Swick honestly was a really practical and useful blade for it's size.

I can't for the life of me figure why the SPOT outsold the Swick

I really liked the concept of the Swick because it's blade design as short as it was still had a lot of possibilities. Unless they decide to make a few more of the Swick model it will become very collectible within 2 to 3 years.

Now if I were to get another SPOT it would definitely be the Micarta handled version. But the Swick outshines it just about all the way around. Albeit the best small Spyderco fixed blade is the RONIN. The Swick is a distant second.
Long Live the SPYDEREDGE Spyderco Hawkbills RULE!!
