The Stretch II looks like a definite winner! I have never been a fan of the materials/looks of the original Stretch. Spyderco did a great job with that mulligan, IMO :D

Does anyone have answers to the following questions?

- Is the blade solid or laminated ZDP-189?
- Are the handles rough/grippy (like G-10) or smooth?
- What’s the MSRP?
- Regular Production or Sprint Run? If it’s a sprint run, how many pieces?
- What’s the blade length?
- How thick is the blade?

Native origins

#11

Post by The CoPilot »

I've been searching the forum and the forum archives for information on how Sal developed the C41 Native and I haven't been able to come up with a whole lot. As a major fan of this design, I'd be very interested in hearing his thoughts on what the design intent was and how the design evolved into the model that we know and love today. Whaddya say, Sal? Please.....

Cool! I'd probably wait for the VG-10 version though. I do like peel-ply CF though..

Is there going to be a Vg-10 version?

I think I "need" a stretch all the sudden. :p

For about the same price, you could probably buy a normal stretch and get it rehandled with peel ply CF. The CF on the Stretch II will be less grippy than the peel ply, but more grippy than the glossy (like that on the CF Harpy.)
Ask me where I got my awesome SUPERHAWK!

More like Mid-Cal now

Those of you who are wanting a VG-10 version, what do you have against ZDP? Just curious, b/c ZDP is an amazing steel...

Same here! (I converted from CPM S30V to VG-10 and learned to love VG-10)

Plus I made the experience that ZDP-189 gets tiny rost spots on the bevel when getting wet for one day or so.
