Carbon Fiber - 101

#1

Post by fellyjr »

I just received these beauties in the mail today. I was lucky enough to find matching numbers, and was hoping to find the Civilian in PE as well in #101, but I wasn't that lucky! Anyway, I hope you enjoy the pic's.

Felly,
I was going to see something like introductory course on CF...and got your pictures instead  .
I was not disappointed to say the least! Great pictures! I am not the biggest fan of Police with "Police" on the blade, but your pictures, or CF, or ...well...both make it look stunning.
Thanks!

Beautiful knives. Like WhyNot I was expecting an education...so how about it? What the heck is carbon fiber, who invented it, where does it come from, how did it get to be a premium handle material, why is my bicycle made of it? We really DO need a class on the subject!

lovely knives and photos Felly...
I do sometimes get a hankering for some "old scool" shiny/gloss CF clipit.... like my PE Harpy (sprint run vg10 one).......but that matte finish (on the Tmag and zdp Caly3) has got me all up in a tizzy.... ;)
That Police PE looks especially Sweet! Could it be THE ONE ?

I think I like the shiny CF because it's so much different looking than the matte CF. Really, I think it all boils down to the fact that I like all the CF Spydies and eventually I'd like to have them all. ;)

like fishing with an Ugly Stik vs. a G. Loomis? :p
Not to be snobby but CF handles feel ultra "kewl" in the hand, with their lightweight, high sensitivity "feel" .... vs the "dead/spongy" feel of a G10 handled knife...
I can't believe u've resisted the Kopa Candy all this time Felly! ;) :)

You might want to check out this webpage. Excellent explaination of the various fibers and the composites made from them.

Felly,

Slowly but surely you play in the upper collector-league; or should I say fastly but surely :D

My congrats, mate!

BTW:

1) An entire shot of all your Spydies is highly appreciated! And please use a wide angle lens

2) I wonder when I will have the great pleasure to see a special Felly homepage; ... don't answer "One step bejond the other, you first Peter" ;) :D

LOL!! I guess without the pic's on this Forum there WOULD be a lot less spent on Spydies. I know I've fallen prey to many a drool session since I've joined here and been inspired to buy more knives than I care to talk about simply from seeing some nice pic's of them. I guess it could be worse, I could get hooked on Rolex's!! ;)

IMO, "THE ONE" would be a first production two screw Worker with the thin slabs on each side. That's THE ONE that started it all. ;)
