25th Anniversary Delica

Post by fellyjr »

Thanks to a fellow forumite, I was able to get this beauty. What a package! honey Jigged bone scales, hand forged Damascus bolsters (courtesy of Ed Schempp), mirror polished VG-10 and a luscious Rosewood box. I didn't have the daylight left to do it up right but for now this is what I have. I hope you like em'!

That is lovely!

Got a question, have you ever taken a picture of all your rare Spydies together?

Actually, you might need to also put in a warning about blinding as well if you do it.

Momma, what a beauty!
:) I still kick myself for not getting one, kept thinking I'd be able to snatch one up a little less pricey on the secondary market, yeah right. Talk about investment cutlery. I think that one has the chance to be the first $1,000 Spidey a few years down the road.

Actually, this summer I'm planning to do a complete group photo of all my eight legged creatures and I believe Peter said he would come over for a visit and help out with the shoot. :D

I have yet to find one major piece to add to the fold, and I'm hoping I find it before picture time!

BTW, thanks for all the compliments! This one is very special and made me work hard to get it.

Your third shot makes me hungry!
We would rather be the knife in your pocket, because is "works" better, than the knife in your showcase, because it "looks" better.

If my memory is right I said that I will do a complete shot of my collection asap after yours ;) Your idea is to dangerous, my wife would show me the door if I would tell her "I've a trip to US as Felly is waiting for me for a shoot"

@ SteelDragon: You are right, the C76 was limited to 500 pieces. And there is a interesting story, why the bolsters are copper colored and not black/white as the pieces Ed Shempp made. You want to know more? Searchfunction in this great forum is our friend :D

For those who are too lazy to use the search function... that's what I found:

http://spyderco.com/forums/showthread.p ... 168&page=2

I believe that's it what Peter is referring to... isn't it, Peter?

For those who didn't see the "original" Ed Schempp tiles yet, here you are:

Definitely NOT copper-coloured :-)

The third best looking spyderco, IMHO! (Blue Lum Chinese being the best, and Lum Tanto being the second)

Congrats on the find, and thanks for sharing with us!

*EDITED BECAUSE I FORGOT ABOUT THE LUM TANTO
