We've seen the thread going on BF, someone from AHO has even joined BF and is posting. We don't know anything about this company. What we can tell you is they are not a customer of ours. Perhaps more importantly, we can't even make the products they are selling at those costs.

Real simple folks>> "If it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is" The cheapest I ever got a USED Dodo for was $45 and that blade had been used to the point to where you would swear it had seen action over in IRAQ :eek:

One of the biggest tools that con-artists and scamsters use is people's unrealistic tendancy/desire to try to get something for nothing. Like Tazkristi said> "Spyderco don't even know who they are"

I would rather pay good money and know who I'm dealing with ;)

I would certainly not do internet trade with them. But...

In the contact section of their site it lists the fallowing address:
American Home Outlet
1023 W 100th Pl
Northglenn, CO 80260
(303) 396-0016

I then checked to their domain info to see if it matched or was some off shore company. To my surprise, it is the same. With a name:

Registrant:
Matthew Hess

It would be very interesting if on of our local knife-bro's could pay them a visit and buy a Dodo for their advertised price then let us know how it went...

Here is a map, if that helps... :)

It seems pretty clear that the 1 (as in $100) was accidentally omitted from some of the :spyder: prices on their site, and they did not intend to sell them at the listed price. The other prices are high. Some may say they should honor the listed price, but I don't think they are obligated to put themselves out of business over an obvious mistake.

i ordered a titanium atr, full size manix and black paramillie. got confirmation. also emailed the store about the low prices and high inventory, and got a quick response, as follows:

My e-mail message --

"Is this information correct? You have listed:

A.T.R., Titanium Handle, ComboEdge (59379|C70PSTI)
$26.63
# Features a 3.44 in. CPMS30V steel blade. 5.13 in. titanium handle with
predrilled positioning holes for tip up carry.Product average shipping time:
2 to 3 Business days.
* Model: 59379|C70PSTI
* 1912 Units in Stock
* Manufactured by: Spyderco

The prices for many of the Spyderco knives seem really low, and the
inventory is not realistic (this knife in particular is very hard to find,
and you list 1912 of them in stock).

Thank you."

The reply from Matt Hess at AHO --

"Yes, our prices are low, we sell below msrp on a lot of items.. we mark
up from wholesale and not down from msrp.. I get my stock information
from suppliers I use but I am not the only one who uses them."

we shall see! though i don't expect to get any of these knives at this price, its worth a shot...

Considering the prices listed are below manufacturing cost, they would have to be marked down from wholesale to get those numbers. If it isn't a mistake, they are either fakes or stolen.
Or maybe they are trying to lose money :rolleyes: .

Yep, please let us know. If anyone actually receives any of these "deals" and they are authentic Spydercos, I would be very surprised. Hope I'm wrong.
