Finally got a Sharpmaker!

#1

Post by Padawan »

Today was my birthday, and my brother gave me a Sharpmaker as a gift. I'd always wanted one, but never actually got one until now. I spent some of the evening reading through the booklet and watching the DVD and I'm excited to try it out this weekend on some knives that could definitely use some sharpening. :)

Congratulations and Happy Birthday! You will not know how you got along so long without one! Enjoy.

You won't be disappointed at all. Just remember that not all "non" Spyderco knives take to the sharpmaker but, all Spydies do.

Thanks everyone. Last night I sharpened some of our kitchen knives, and touched up a couple of my folders, and it was very simple to do. They're all shaving sharp now. The one thing that I noticed is that one of my medium rods has a tiny "dimple" on one edge, that you can feel as the blade is drawn over it. I haven't dropped or otherwise impacted the rod, so does this sound like something that Spyderco might warranty? Would I just send it in to Golden with my address and they'd ship a new one, or should I simply ignore it and use onf of the other edges?

Happy birthday, Padawan!

I've the same 'dimple' on one my white fine rods and I ignored it and use the two other edges. As Austrian I've to say it's a long way to Golden, US and all the sending procedure was me not worth the trouble.
