Silly and expensive, but it would be fun to play with.

Ah, yes....the traditional Philippino bangisong. Has a Darwinian habit of weeding out the true masters of the deadly martial art of Doce Parabellums Eskalibre during instruction of basic flipping styles and techniques.

It is an American copy of a soviet special forces toy. The original is listed in Janes Infantry Weapons 1998-2000 I believe. An original is also at the Aberdeen Proving Grounds Ordnance Museum in Aberdeen Md. on display.

Zen: those brass nucks look funny....maybe a Comtech Stinger in place of the Nucks will save a bunch of weight!....but then you woudn't really have a "handle" for the gun...
My friend Wade Colter made one of the first modern custom cut and shoot as they were labeled in the current magazine. Bruce Bump was working on the idea almost simultaneously. They have each produced several reproductions and inspired designs. They received the Wooden Sword award for innovation in the industry from the Knives Annual publication for their efforts with cut and shoots.
While in Paris at the army museum I photographed a sword with a small flintlock integral. I also photographed a tri-bladed lance with three flintlocks nested in the intersection of the blades.
The philosophy of the reliability of the blade first and the powerful but finite reaction of the firearm second. They are very interesting technical challenges to produce...Take Care...Ed

you know, now that we're talking offbeat weaponry anyway.....
anyone over here into videogames? well, i was when i was younger, am not anymore, but somewhere in '96/'97 my favorite game was a First-Person-Shooter called "Quake".
now, there were two weapons that were my favorite. the 'nailgun' which bascially shot staples, AND then there was also the 'super nailgun'. that one shot nine inch nails like crazy. (btw, i think they added that weapon intentionally because Nine Inch Nails' Trent Reznor wrote the soundtrack for the game, which was very good actually)
i want one of those super nailguns, bad!! anyone know similar cordless tools that shoot nails with some decent power? PM me, love to hear it
btw, wanna know how to make a failsafe kickass flamethrower? :D PM me if wanna know......

Hmm... short of rigging up some kind of cartridge gun system, a compressed air staple gun would be the closest thing to a nailgun I can think of. If you really want to though, I remember someone hooking up a solenoid to AC current, and using that as a kind of automatic coilgun. Range and velocity wasn't that impressive though.
