A couple weeks ago, I wake up to get ready for work and as I'm putting everything in my pockets, I realize my Atlantic Salt is missing. I didn't have time to look for it, so I picked another knife and headed out. After I got home, I tore my room apart looking for it, still no luck. The next day, I went to my friend's house and searched up and down for it, in case I left it there. Still nothing. So my question to everyone is this; How the heck does someone lose a knife with a bright yellow handle? :p
I have heard of folks finding their knives under couch cushions or on the bottoms of recliners etc. Knives can make their way through nooks and crannies of chairs and sofas etc.

I've lost 2 Spyderco knives in the last 2 years. I still look for them every time I go up in North Missouri to work. Ironically both of them were Hawkbills too . A serrated Spyderhawk and a Plain edged Merlin. It still hurts my gut even thinking about them.
They were both users and I was using both of them at the time I lost them. There is something about losing a knife versus losing a pair of pliers, a claw hammer or almost any other hand tool>> you just can't describe the grief it causes you when you realize it is indeed lost.
Since then I have taken extreme measures to make sure not to lose any more of my treasured Spyderco EDC users.
I know how you feel JD. Sure I could buy another one, but darn it, that Salt was mine:-p. I'm going to keep looking around, in case it happens to pop up. If not, I guess I'll have to pick up another one down the road.
Every time I go somewhere, where I might lose a knife, MAINLY THE WATER, I bring something replaceable. Like an endura. I don't worry much about them on land. I instantly feel something is wrong if I can't feel a knife in my pocket.
I was camping in the Sierras once, and I thought I had lost my BM 804. Turns out it had slipped out of my pocket and was resting between my rain pants and my cargo pants. Got lucky on that one.
Glad you found your knife! Losing a knife is awful, especially one you've been using for awhile. They're like tennis shoes. Sure, you could buy the same pair, but the ones you've been using fit so well...
