Ken Onion's Knives stolen!

#1

Post by aero_student »

Dear Friends,

Please be advised, Ken Onion's knives were all stolen from his luggage
enroute to the Plaza Cutlery knife show. His routing took him from Honolulu
to SF then down to Huntington Beach. Each knife is one of a kind, and when
they surface there will be no doubt if they were one of the knives that was
stolen. Please help us keep an eye out for the knives. I've attatched 2
pictures that Jeff took the night before Ken left. It's the only photo of
all the knives together.

Please help spread the word, although I suppose the theif had no idea was
he/she has.

To give you an idea of value on these knives you are looking at about $35,000- $55,000 of knives. So please keep an eye out at pawn shops or what not. Everyone of these knives have atleast 100 hours of work put into each on these are not your Kershaw Ken Onion knives these are the hand made one of a kind type.

What he said and I will most certainly keep any eye out.

Thanks for posting this for me Aero.

This Is exactly why I do not trust the TSA I have them search my bags before I give them my luggage just for this reason. I have been looking on the net and calling most pawn shops in the san fran area the last 2 days. This is one of the sickest things I have heard of the TSA doing. Theft of a mans hard work and labor is about as equal to steeling from a church donation box. Chances are Ken had no insurance on his luggage but I am sure he is raising ****.

A tip to avoid this for you folks out there who travel with knives or things of value. Get a hand gun small cheep even broken and put it in your luggage. When you go to give your luggage to the airline declare that you have a firearm in your bags. At that point they are unable to open your bags with out you there.

Just the thought of how many hours of hard labor went into those knives to disapear is sickening. Sadley, I doubt the theif even understands the value of them, let alone blade culture.

That is horrible. I really think that stinks.

I have to say however that there is no way in **** that I would put $35,000 + worth of anything in luggage and take it on an airplane.

It would be shipped FedEx with insurance. Not trying to be a jerk but why in the world would you put those knives in checked baggage?

Wow.

Did they get "lost" at the Hawaii, Frisco or Orange County airport? Taking a man's (or woman's) knives should be a capital offence. :(
I'll keep my eyes open.
