Think tank : what would YOU look for?

#1

Post by AllenETreat »

I posted a similar thread to this some time back, but for the
sake of the newcomers, changing opinions, and for consumer
demographics sake. The question is, what do you want to see
in a NEW offering by :spyder: ?

I understand Sal & Co. are leaning towards an automatic, being
that these are usually a "restricted sale item" ( military & law enforcement
ONLY ) I might like to see and "assisted opener" like the Kershaw
Blackout that I have. The difference being that this hot rod would have
not only the :spyder: hole, but cobra hood to assist in the "kicking"
( or, is that "assisting" of the blade? )

Anyway people, let :spyder: know what you'd like to see!

What say the augurers?

AET :D

What's the best thing in a Spydie?

This is another ( yet ) rehash of a thread I did awhile back,
except we'll limit this to the one choice of what you
like best about a :spyder: .

I personally miss the :spyder: edge. I luckily have my FRN SE
Cricket. Sal may humbly not have recognized what an impact
he's has on the cutlery industry with the introduction of the
:spyder: edge. I thought it unique ( works for me  )

One thing Allen?? So, what? Make 4 'one thing' posts? :)

For me, I love my Caly Jr ZDP..... but I wish it had a larger hole and was tip up carry.

And I really like a carbon fiber handel

So I'm really hoping the discussed Caly III ZDP, carbon fibre is tip up (or user choice!) with a larger hole and screw construction..... Seems like the perfect knife, to me!

(sorry Allen, I was never good with limitations!)

There are many things I want, but Spyderco has already covered most of them. The only thing I can think of is a mini hawkbill. I think something the size of a ladybug or jester with a hawk would be really cool.

But maybe I should just buy myself a tasman and shut up :D

i honestly am satisfied with both the current Spyderco catalog and the direction they seem to be heading in. they always seem to be inovating and trying new things and that's all i ask for.

A selection of extra large knives would be a dream come true for me. If we could see five inch versions of the Manix and Chinook (How about a six inch Military? And Civilian! And Endura!), that would fill a place in both my pocket and heart.

Navigator 2 with BG42 blade, and a "R2" sized & shaped blade in M4 with SS/ lockback frame ( beefed up a bit especially in the lock). Joe

I love Spyderco but do you really think anyone can make an OTF better than MT (or even just an auto)? The Trodon or whatever it is called is absolutely amazing and I have not and do not see Benchmade making anything near the fit and finish of MT.

Tony may be a weird guy, but he makes a good knife. The last few full size LUDTs I've seen were in CPM-S60V (440V IIRC) and CPM-S90V. I thought they were only S30V.

I don't know but I'd like to see what Spyderco could come up with.

Benchmade autos don't do a thing for me.

My newest...
