BLADE SHOW roll call

#1

Post by JD Spydo »

OK, OK I know you are all thinking that maybe I am a bit early to start talking about the BLADE Show this upcoming June in Atlanta Georgia USA. But now is the time to get your trip lined out. The hotels in that area do fill up fast. Usually the Waverly Renaissance ( the Hotel that has the show) fills up completely by March with reservations. I met 4 of you at last year's BLADE show and I hope to meet many more of you all this year.

There's just no reason why at least 30 of us couldn't show up for this year's show. Spyderco always has a great booth there and just about every knife company and custom maker you can think of shows up to that one. Make your reservations early and don't be disappointed.

The Show dates are June 16, 17 & 18. You can find out quite a bit about it by going to http://www.bladeshow.com There is a ton of information on the website. I wonder what new Spyder will debut at the show this year  . No excuses just be there :)

Sadly, I will be absent, I don't ever get that much free time off, and couldn't afford to get down there anyway.

Do post pics for those of us who couldn't make it please :o

My son and I are going. Was planning on going Friday and Saturday but that depends on how much cash I can save up.I have started saveing.
My son is very excited about it.I am helping him on makeing some lanyards for him to carry around and sell so he can buy his first knife that he buys for himself.
He likes the Kiwi (Santa Fe in bloodstone)but is really leaning toward a fixed blade,so far he likes the Kumo,Busse Skeleton key,Strider ED,and a couple of the small Atwood fixed blades.

Luckily I live in a suburb of Atlanta and I haven't missed it in ten years. It's the holy land of knife collecting!

I was planning on going, but my fiancé can't get the time off work. So I'm stuck... She has this crazy idea that some females are going to take advantage of me. DOH!

I hate being sexy! :D

Consider the Coffeeman in the house. My wife and I are already planning our trip...just 1/2 from the show.

Each time I drive in that area i get excited.
Special thanks to Bill W. for all of his inspiration and guidance.

Do you know Bill ?

I have NEVER been! I have some friends down there, and they had offered to fly me down.....They told me to let them know when.....I recently asked if the time during Blade would be good!! I haven't heard back yet!!

There's got to be more

OK, OK a few of you chimed in on this one. But I know in my gut that there are many more of you all going. Like I said you definitely want to get it mapped out now. Because trying to get hotel accomodations at that time is virtually impossible.
The show gets better every year. A lot of outdoor demonstrations with swords, blade forging, knife throwing and a myriad of other activities. I got a feeling at the rate this show is growing that in a couple of years they will be looking for a bigger facility.
If you only do one knife show a year. THIS IS IT
