Bought a turkey breast Monday, amazed myself by actually cooking it yesterday.

We had both, but I prefered the Turkey this year. We had it fried(as is usual)using the same oil that fried two before it. So much flavor!

Hosted 12 neighbors (70-80 years plus) who had no local family for both a 28lb gobbler and a spiralcut ham (with pecan-praline splash) Sent them home with most of the leftovers, butt will still have turkey soup from the carcass and hot turkey sands for a few days.

Just got a call "Soup's on"

Later...

Good for you, Chinook. That's what Thanksgiving is all about! :D

Turkey is the best Thanksgiving meat by far! Ham just can't compete the mighty Turkey on Thanksgiving

We don't have a Thanksgiving day here, but maybe we should. We do have too many public holidays : Women's this and children's that etc. There are also some that give rise to political gatherings.

Given the choice, I would not like turkey or ham. Chicken sounds better to me (and to the turkeys, I suspect). Christmas is the time turkeys are eaten here.
