Lum Tanto in G-10???

#1

Post by BlackNinja »

Were there a lot of Lum tantos in G-10 scales made? I thought they were mostly made in Ti.

More were made in G-10 than Ti. The G-10 also came with both black and regular blades, and all three came in PE and CE. Within the G-10 versions not really sure which is less common.

Ahhh..... That would make sense, but I have never seen a Lum tanto folder in anything other than Ti. Guess I wasn't looking all that well. Thanks for the help, Paul. :)

Hi

I have two G-10 Lums, one PE and the other CE. If anyone is unhappy about owning a common Ti version, I would be more than happy to relieve them of the item ! I am on a hunt for a Ti, having aquired a Ti ATR and a Ti Salsa. I think that Titanium is infectious !

My opinion, the Lum folding tanto with ti handle is the best knife Spyderco has ever produced.

Yes BlackNinja you do want a Ti Lum and a G10 one too. If you find you don't like it I am sure you can trade either for an Ayoob.

Satin Versus Black coated

Post by JD Spydo »

I have found in my collection that the satin steel G-10 Lum is a much tougher find that the Black coated blades. Even on Bladeforums in the trading arena I hardly ever see a satin blade come up for trade whereas I have scored 2 of the black coated blade Lum tanto folders.

That knife is a major candidate to comeback with a new super blade steel>>> yeah!! like ZDP-189. I guess I am a broke/scratched record but the tune sounds good to me :D :spyder:
