No comparison, the new Arcs still have a 5mm Nichia led, no match for a Luxeon/Incand Scorpion. I'm gonna order a couple though because the original Arc's were great pocket lights. The funniest part was seeing the value of all the older Arc AAA's drop like a rock, so all the hoarders who were cleaning up on ebay are stuck with old technology now.

Senate, for the 4+, you better get an HDS Systems light. Henry from HDS designed the light and wrote the software when he worked for Arc, and when Arc went down hill, he started HDS Systems to perfect the design. I've got a Basic 42 and never want anything else in this size.

A photon might be brighter in the beginning, but not for the whole duration of the battery. The Arc is voltage regulated and has a constant brightness (till the battery really runs out.
An Arc will outrun a Photon, but that's no mystery considering the size in batteries.

How does the Arc AAA compare to the Streamlight Keymate (besides the battery being cheaper)?

Fedex is delivering mine today.
Arc is not takeing any new orders until Aug 1st so they can catch up.
Eveything I have read about the new ARC Ps from people that have gotten thiers say that they are much brighter than the old ARC Ps.
The thing I like best about them is the 5 hour burn time before the light dims at all.You can also get AAA lithium cells now, this increases brighness and you don't have to worry about the heat or cold zapping the battery.
Heres a link to a review.

I got it Monday,if you haven't ordered one you are missing the best LED light ever. This one is much brighter than the older Ps.The new head design and the HA III coating is very nice.
I came home from work the night after I got it and turned it on in the liveing room with the light out and shined it straight up.It lite up the whole room.
I will be getting a couple more of these for back ups.
Now if Spyderco will work out a ARC logo Pride or Dragon Fly with Peter to go with the ARC AAA ;)
