A 500th post milestone

#1

Post by ghostrider »

As I read Dr. Letere's recent post on the subject, it occured to me that I myself ought to check my progress toward that milestone. Not trying to "steel your thunder" Doc., but it would seem improper if I didn't at least try to follow suit. Although it's tough to beat a PE Merlin. ;)

Just yesterday a package was dropped at my door (just in time for my 500th post). Inside where two byrds, straight from the shop of jsholli. A Crossbill, and a Cara Cara.

When I read the thread jsholli posted about his mods, it got me thinking. I had been wanting a hawkbill in CE, and figured the Crossbill would “fit the bill” nicely since the Harpy only comes in SE currently. Although I prefer VG-10, the byrd steel would be fine for the intended purpose.

Haven't had any chance to use either knife yet, but I must say I am quite pleased with the work John did for me. His mods accent the shape of each knife very well.

I really like the Crossbill. There has been much talk on the forum lately calling for another :spyder: hawkbill. IMHO the Crossbill handle is the perfect shape, and size not only for a hawkbill blade, but also from what the majority on that thread were asking for. For those of you who were on that thread you would do well to check it out. If at all just to get an idea of what a different spin on the hawkbill :spyder: can put out.

John did my Cara Cara was done equally well. He even jimped the 50/50 choil ala Stretch.

Today, also from jsholli, I received my first set of :spyder: acrylic knife stands.

Thanks John,

You made my 500 milestone a splendid time.

My Dear Friend ghostrider,

Steal my thunder? Hardly. In my post I was sharing a personal private joy with my friends, and I am pleased you followed suite.

Keep the insightful and well-thought posts coming; I look forward to reading more of them as the months roll by.

BTW - I had been meaning to mention for some time now - Ghost Rider was my favorite comic as a kid; just thought you would want to know. :D

Again, my most heartfelt congratulations!!!!!

Thanks all,

I appriciate everyone's comments.

Dr. Lecter,

Thanks for telling me about GR. Who couldn't like a superhero with a flaming skull, wearing a black leather jacket, and riding around on a motorcycle avenging innocent victims (sp?).
