Spyderco!!
Please bring the Jens Anso knife into production. What a great looking knife it is. Keep the big blade also. I'll be looking for it in a year or so.

Not to turn this into a poll, but a Spyderco Rocklobster with Mircarta handles would be something to behold....and hold and hold dear :)

To be honest, I did not care for this knife at all, Something about the look of the blade or something but I just couldnt make myself like it, Not knocking it since I understand everyone has diff. taste.

There where quite a few Proto's at Spyderco's booth that looked promising though and I can't wait to see them come out.

I've looked at Mr. Anso's stuff before, and I like most of it. I wouldn't mind a Spyder Lobster or whatever you want to call it, but as far as it's huge size, I'd prefer one about the size of a Persian or so. Anything any bigger isn't practical for me.

Another vote for a mini-rocklobster. As close to the original as possible.

Wow...That's funny...I *JUST* ordered a Rocklobster from Mr. Ansø and then I see this thread!

+1 for the project!!

I would love to see Spyderco do this collaboration. Was the proto at the Blade show the full-size version? I personally prefer that one, but I would assume that Spyderco would be better off doing the small version since it would probably be more acceptable for the general market.

Micarta scales in an interesting color and VG-10 would be great, but I'd be just as happy to see a black G10 version with S30V as well! And as always, I'm partial to the compression lock... :D

Good luck to Mr. Ansø!!

The one I saw last Novemeber in NY may have been different from the one show at Blade, but IIRC the blade seemed a good bit larger than 2.75", yet nowhere near as large as the 4.25" bladed custom versions, perhaps 3.5".

G'day Blades,

Mate, I don't think I've seen you this excited since we first saw the prototypes of the Chinese Folder :D . Is this going to be another saga like that one? I have to agree with you though, this is a superb design and one I could see becoming my EDC, especially since the semi-sheepsfoot blade might be less confronting under our knife laws. Sailors weren't restricted to sheepsfoot blades without good reason :) . However my preference would be for a framelock and a blade length more along the lines of Paul's post, 4.25" is just too long for me to carry regularly and the mini-lobster is too short. Something around 3.25"-3.5" would be perfect.

cheers,
clay

Clay,
You found my post before I was able to email ya. :) The custom Rock Lobster is a frame lock(I think), so I hope a Spyderco version will be a frame lock also. I also heard that a production version would be a 4" blade, easier to carry for the masses(ELU). Either way, I want one or two. So keep your fingers crossed. Maybe we will see it in 2007. It took 2 years before we got our Chinese Folders. No rush, good Spydie things come to those who wait. :D I plan to bug Mr. Glesser untill he makes them. :D
They also had your warncliff Centofante prototype at the Spyderco booth. It didn't have a flat ground blade yet, but maybe if we keep asking about that one, we can get it switched.
Are you getting any sking done this year?? Isn't it about time to hit the slopes?? Stay warm bro!!

I would love to see a collab with Jens Anso. I think his designs are refreshing. Personaly I have a week spot for the Rebel. But it must be kept a liner or frame lock. The cutout for reaching the hole is also there to de-lock the liner when closing. This is a design feature that should not be thrown away. What I would like most is a typical Anso frame lock, One side frame lock, other side this two coloured textured G10. Bright orange would be nice. Yeah.
