What lube ?

What lubricating agent do you recommend ?

I used to use 3 in 1, it produces a fast action, but leaves the knife slippery and a definite dirt maganet.

On recommendation I have tried Teflon-Plus. Very good in coating the knife with a protective covering without the slipperiness and does produce a smooth action. The only down side is that the action feals a lot slower with this lube, and drop opening is not possible until after a lot of manual opening.

The best I've used is Militec-1.

I have a Lum Chinese folder that was in retirement for months because the opening was so stiff. After washing out the factory lube and adding about 3 drops of Militec-1 it is now just as smooth and fast as all of my other Spydercos.

A fairly recent purchase of 8 oz of TufGlide has me pretty committed to it. By about the 4th application and some working of the pivot, it has turned a couple knives from very stiff to quite smooth. Not falling open smooth, but little effort required to open. Am not too sure how well it lubricates between steel and FRN or G10. Am sure the metal profits, but doubt much happens to the plastics.

I've heard only good things about Militec1. And, some people swear by White Lightning, while some criticize it for the accumulation of wax.

Don't think you can go wrong with Tuf Glide or Militec1.

another good lube is what I think is called ballstud, which they currently are using and selling at the factory outlet store.

I use White Lightning. It goes on wet but dries to a wax based lube.It doesn't attract dust and grit like wet (oil based)lubes.
