DK Question

#1

Post by Dr. Snubnose »

I know that the DK being a Knife made to meet the restrictions in England will become a sought after collectable here in the US soon. Can someone explain to me why anyone who lives here would want the DK model other than for his collection. I played with one the other day and I just don't get it!!!. It's got that hard to use Psydo-Spyderhole, the blade closes when you apply pressure on the thumb portion on the spine. You can't open it with inertia. Granted the blade is nice, the handle comfy...but I still don't get it! Someone enlighten me...Doc

I think that you answered your own question. I believe that the people buying the DK are buying them for collecting purposes.

My reasons for wanting the DK are a bit more complex than most. First because when the idea was initially proposed, I was one of those who chimed in with an idea on how to replace the opening hole with something that would still make it obvious that the knife was a :spyder: . Second for the normal "collector" reasons, limited production, etc. And, finally, as a hedge against the chance that New York's laws will become just as restrictive as those of Denmark before I'm old enough to retire and get out of here.

First of, it´s made for the DANISH kniferestrictions, not the British!! ;) Second, if you only can carry a 7cm blade without a lock and it can´t be a onehandopener...... wouldn´t you then LOVE it?!! I sure do..-and I haven´t even gotten one yet!! :)
