What Spyder is 'the One' for you?

#1

Post by KBR »

The Military returns!!!! At least for me anyways... :D

I've decided, after a couple of weeks with the 806D2, that the Military will be making a return to regular EDC for me. :D In fact, I'm already in the works on a trade for ANOTHER Millie PE(LNIB) for my LNIB 806.

Although this Benchmade is nice, and the AXIS is cool....it is no Military. For me, the Millie is the Ultimate Spyder. I don't think that I could ever find a knife that could take its' place as my primary EDC.

HOWEVER, the Manix is a close second that I'll rotate occasionally. I think that it is the only one Spyder that will share duties with the Millie.

What about you guys? Which Spyder is 'the One' that you ALWAYS find yourself going back to?

That's a tough one! I'ts been pretty much asked before and it's always tough!

For several weeks my favorite has been my PE Spur. I would have to say my Para-Military is another favorite. And then there's my Tim Wegner Jr. And of course my old standby favorite plain old FRN PE Delica. And then...

Well, I don't think I have an ABSOLUTE number one favorite  It depends on what month it is, or what week it is, or what day it is

And when the new Navigator comes out that will probably my next "favorite" :D

I always go back to my favorites, but my favorites are all in favorite rotation. Which is most of them :p

So, I'm always going back to one, but it's always different :D :D

The SE S-curved Meerkat is always in my right front pocket like a little Yoda. Other Spydies and off-brand knives come and go, but my Meerkat is my longest running EDC (tied with a generic Swiss Army-style folder).

That just made me think ( :eek: );

I ALWAYS have a Jester with me no matter what other Spyderco I'm carrying. So, I guess that would mean that my Jester is my number one favorite   :D But that can't be, can it

For me, it's the Stretch. Since the day my two arrived, one has been in my pocket almost every day. Not the "coolest" looking of :spyder: s, but for me, it's like Mama Bear's stuff was for Goldilocks, "just right". Only thing that might change that is the upcoming R2. Am very excited about that one.

I actually rather like the looks of the Stretch. I had a hard time deciding between the Stretch and the Para-Military. I bought the Para and I love it to death, but I do want to get a Stretch also!

I really like the drop point (?) blade on the Stretch. That's one reason why I like the Spur, Progrip, etc.

His lips said "Paramilitary", but his keyring said "Jester."

Technically, it's too creepy to ponder.

Can't bring myself to leave home without my......

Manix! I work for a Police Department, which affords me the luxgery of carrying pretty much any knife/knives I choose. That said, I never leave home without my Manix! Since the day I got this knife, I have not left home without it. BTW, I always carry a second knife in my BPV trauma plate pocket, and that knife is a Scorpius. I guess I'm partial to Eric Glesser designs. ;) :spyder:

I love the Manix, but just can't get away from the Lil'T. Tough choice, but I would consider myself happy and all set with either one.

Well KBR, I'm glad that you've returned to your senses; namely, that you're confidence in the Millie's linerlock has been restored, and that the Millie has been brought out of retirement and returned to active duty as your EDC. A man wearing a Spyderco Tee shirt should not have a BM in his pocket. I think that it's actually against the law in Colorado, possibly in some other states as well :D .

As for me, it's a toss up between the Para-Military and the Stretch at the moment. I'm going to rotate them as my EDC for a while. By the way, I also have a BM 806D2 AFCK. I carry it in the trunk :D .

I either haven't bought it yet or I haven't realized yet it is 'the One'.
As all my spydies outperform my actual knife needs I like to have a choice. The only knife that sees little EDC is the Cricket. I find it a bit to small.

Military for sure.

Good blade size and great handle makes it the most vesatile knife I've seen. This knife is always on me and my "the one" knife.

I can't say that I have a real favorite. Currently the Li'l Temp is getting EDC rotation time. I don't have a Military yet for evaluation.

My favourite is the Police SS SE. Nothing compares to the size of this blade and the overall slimness and carry comfort. I will be converting mine to tip-up carry with a deep-pocket clip cause that's what I'm used to. I just wish it had screws for disassembly so I could clean and lube it better.

The tougher twosome

The are 2 Spydies that I consider to be so reliably dependable that I have to put them at the top of my priority list. They are the S30V Military and the big C-44P&S Dyad. Also I am to the point to where I can't leave my house without my blue PE Dodo. Some things are luxuries but the aforementioned are necessities. :spyder:
