Don't Leave Home Without It!!!

#1

Post by Gibsoniam »

Hey all!

The other day I was pondering all the little things I'd never leave home without, and something odd occurred to me. Almost everything I use on a daily basis-or carry on a daily basis-was either recommended to me by someone, or I saw someone using and hunted it down. I thought it might be interesting to do a modified "Empty Your Pockets" thread based more on those things you can't live without everday, rather than just those things in your pocket. And for those of us who might want to take your suggestion or solutions, perhaps we could include the websites where these things come from?

For example, I almost never leave home without the following (perhaps not on my person, but nearby in my car or a suitcase):

Spyderco UK Pen Knife

White Photon Freedom Microlight / http://www.photonlight.com

Telescoping Space Pen (one-hand opening!) / http://www.spacepen.com

Pocket size Bible (ESV) / http://www.gnpcb.org/home/esv/

Pocket sized US Constitution (I'm a politics junkie!)

Leatherman Fuse / http://www.leatherman.com

Kershaw Twocan (small knife/scissors) / http://www.kershawknives.com

Moleskine notebook / http://www.moleskineus.com

Apple iPod Shuffle / http://www.apple.com/ipod

Lego X-pod (I have to have something to pass idle time!) / http://www.lego.com

Pelican M6 LED flashlight / http://www.pelican.com

Apple folding windbreaker (Apple store in Cupertino)

That's all I can think of for now, I have to get back to work! :D

I'm eager to see what everyone else relies on daily!

I never leave the house...

Oh wait, different thread

I never leave the house without:

Spyderco UK Penknife
Surefire E2e + KL1 or KL4
Fisher Space Pen
Nokia 5140
Keys (with Peak AAA 3LED Materhorn Hi power, ice blue glow ring and res-q-me)
Wallet (usually empty)
Tissues

That's the stuff I always have on me, I have another load of stuff I keep in my pack with things like first aid kit, spare batteries, a PryBaby, Brunton Helios lighter, etc.

My daily regimen of hardware carry involves:
Spyderco Military CE S30V
Spyderco Dodo PE S30V
Victorinox Swiss Tool X
Surefire 6p

In these times of trouble one must be prepared to get out of "Dodge" in just a few moments notice. Troubled times require the right tools. :spyder: ;)

Very well worn Arc AAA on a ball chain around my neck,
Phone,
Palm Tungsten 3 (how would I know who to call?),
Some sharp folding object,
Keys,
Wallet,
Backpack containing item or items certain to be deemed politically incorrect, except possibly in Texas. :D

Other then the usual stuff like wallet, ID, drivers license and car registration:

a knife (mostly Spydie or CRK Sebenza)

on my keychain:

Peter Atwood Pry-Baby
Sliver Gripper tweezers
Arc AAA

further, small medical pack (Adventure Medical Kits 0.5 Ultra Light) and a piece of rope (10 ft 550 paracord)

And, I've used everything much more then I thought I would do!

Jurphaas, if you weren't so far away I'd ask for some Alka Seltzer, my spicy lunch is not sitting well with my stomach today.

A lot of people seem to have those little prybaby's. I might have to look into that...
