Most beautiful Spyderco

#1

Post by Manifest »

It may just be me but I think Spyderco makes beautiful knives. There are quite a few threads on people's favorite :spyder: but which Spydies are the nicest looking for you? For me, the nicest looking fixed blade is the Ronin. Folder, it will have to be the Persian or SS ATR. Your favorite looking :spyder: ?

A few that I think are really attractive: the gun-metal blue Lum Chinese, the Laguiole, the Anniversary Delica and the CF Police (I love the lines of the Police and the depth of the CF scales).

(then there's the white Micarta Jess Horn, the Ti Lum Folder, the burgundy FRN Forum Vesuvius, etc. etc.)

That's a tough one! Some are pretty like the Kopa and Kiwi. But I think a lot of Spydercos aren't pretty or beautiful, but really cool looking. Which I guess has it's own beauty. It's kinda like the A-10 Warthog. Not pretty but really, really cool looking! Spyderco is the A-10 of kinves. Mean, tough, and really cool!

But the more I think about it, knives like the Para-Military and Manix have a beauty about them in their own way.

I'm with 4 S ter on the Lum Chinese. I saw a picture of one a couple of years ago in American Rifleman and the image of that knife comes up when I think of 'knife as art'.

You mean... You don't think the A-10 is beautiful?

But truly, the answer to the question depends on which one is in my hand when the question is asked.

I think the prettiest model, of the models I currently own, is the C53 Herbst Aluminum. It's got a glassy-smooth action too.

Of the collaboration models, Lum Chinese, C27 Jess Horn, and Schempp Persian, in no particular order. Of the in-house designs, Kiwi, Calypso Jr., and C41 Native, in that order.

Beauty is one thing, but sexy is something else. My vote goes to the Pro-Venator/Pro-Grip ll.

If we're talking about "attractive looking", my votes go to:

1. The CF Walker Collab.
2. The early Santa Fe & Yellowhorse Spydies

I also think the new Spyderco / Kershaw collaboration is going to rank right in there too. That is a really nice looking knife based on the pictures I've seen.

Indeed a tough one! The Veile or the Herbst. But if push comes to shove the Veile. Mine is just too lovely to use!!

IMO they are all great but the 25th anniv Delica is probably the best looking :spyder: around!

I am with 4ster as well. I think the Lum Chinese - I am partial to the green handled version - is one of the most beautiful knives anyone makes.

my favorites (again in no order)

Millie
Paramillie
CF civi
Manix
ATR

and i really like the moran drop point too

most spydercos are really ugly knives - but they have a kinda functional beauty about them - you just know by looking that they are going to be sharp and comfortable to use
