Your Most Carried Spydie????

#1

Post by CKE »

Not your favourite Spydie...your most carried. The one that is always with you. Look back over the years and let us know what have been the more carried models. For me they are:

Delica CE, integural clip, AUS-8
Military PE, 440V
Dodo PE, S30V
FRN Endura PE, VG-10

In some way or another I have carried all but a few in my collection. Some get very light use and pocket time. Others like the ones above are constant companions and have been used over the years. So how about you folks...over the years what has it been??? I wonder if there will be a trend? My thoughts...Military, Endura, Delica and Police will all take a top ranking place. My appologies to all the new :spyder: 's on the block as they have not been around as long. Take Care all!!!!

Harpy

Always the Harpy.

I have had a fascination with hawkbill blades since childhood (memories of the knife on top of my father's guncase), and the fascination continues to this day. Most of my knives are either hawkbills or variants or the same, and after seeing the Harpy in "Hannibal" I opted to start collecting knives again (my ex-wife objected to my collecting, one of the reasons she is my "ex"). :D

The Harpy is with me regardless of wherever I am and whatever I am doing, riding comfortably in my right front pocket. I may have any number of other knives on my person (or not), but always there is the Harpy.

Delica more than anything.

Over the last 6 months though, the Spydie Mouse and Bob T Jnr have seen most pocket time!....................until the UK Penknife arrives anyway!! :D

This year it is the Native II FRN with CPMS30V steel, 80% serrated with the tip plain edge. This knife works for my knife needs and stays sharp a long time, major use is cutting open boxes and opening envelopes. :)

Hey there Skurto I fully concur with you on hawkbill blades. I am just one step away from you. I like the Harpy my own self but I have a fascination with the Spyderhawk ( Harpy's big step-brother). I carry or have on my person throughout the work day 3 knives most of the time they are the Spyderhawk, The Dodo, and the old Renegade. Those hawkbill blades do indeed grow on you. 10-4  :spyder: :)

My ss' fly is on 24/7... you wanna count carry hours since aug 20, 2001... go for it.

frn/se/ats-55 Endura hasn't left my hip since I got my custom leather just over a month ago, used to ride 24/7 on left/front till I killed the clip after a year.

others all get rotated.

For me: Spyderench

For my Fiancee: Black Spot

^^ The spot is working out great for Her :) . She often doesnt have pockets for a clip-it and so often left her Delica behind. With the Spot that is a non issue and She has it on every day since I picked it up.

Was the Military in PE until my new Stretch (PE as well) showed up. The others get out fairly often. The Stretch is nice knife, am quite enjoying it and it is getting the most pocket time now.

It would have to be the Spydercard
No matter what other knife is clipped to my pocket, the spydercard is always in my wallet, and the wallet in my pocket.

There have been others here & there but.....

A green handle SE Endura got the Spydie ball rolling in the early 90's.

Sometime in the mid 90's it was a Tim Wegner CE, which I carried up until late '02.

'03 saw a lot of knives come & go, but now a PE Gray Goddard is riding shotgun.

The Native has been carried most, but the Para-Military is catching up quickly. I EDC'ed a G2 NAtive, then an S30V. Now I have a VG-10 version, but it just gets my abuse when needed, as my Para is impossible to leave at home.

PS: I've carried a Navigator as a money clip for a few years, but it never gets used for more than its clip.
