Does anybody know how to adjust a compression lock without excentric pivot, like on the Yo (I believe the Paramilli has the same)? The lock on mine engages past the half way point. Just so that it doesn't have bladeplay, but any bit more and it will fail to fully engage.
Actually, my entire Yojimbo experience has been a little disappointing so far, which isn't really a fault of the knife itself.
The blade was riding on the G-10 and the compression lock would engage so late that the blade had vertical play. So I sent the Yo to Spyderco describing the problem. Yesterday, after almost 6 weeks I get the Yo back. The blade is still riding on the G-10 and the action isn't any smoother, and the compression lock still engages very late. I would have thought that there was a miscommunication, and somebody sent it out before anybody took a look at it, but the clip was actually mounted on the other side (weakside carry) of the knife...which isn't really a big deal (there are now some spots of loctite on the G-10 were the clip was mounted, but the Yo was meant to be a user anyway) , but was something that I didn't ask for nor something that I would have wanted.
I really don't want to sent in the Yo for another 6 weeks with uncertain outcome, so I took the blade out and indeed there are circuar scratch marks all arount the pivot area matching precisely the extent of the G-10, so I wasn't imagine things. I didn't have T-6 handy so I sanded the G-10 as best as I could with sand paper mounted on a popsicle stick which smoothed the action considerably. Tonight I am going to take the knife apart completely and sand the G-10 down some more. Still not sure what to do about the lock. Any help is appreciated.
Compression lock on Yojimbo
From the ‘git-go’ my Yojimbo has been a fantastic knife. When I first received it, as expected everything was so crisp and tight that I received a few blisters from "playing" with it a bit much, but now, and with no blade play, everything has worn in perfectly to my tastes. An aside: after an accidental drop, a tiny portion of the tip broke off (approximately 1/2mm), but no problem, with 5-minutes of Sharpmaker work, I now have a barely noticeable “belly” at the new tip (2mm), making the knife a bit more ‘utilitarian’ friendly.
Thanks guys,
just sent it of to Spyderco for a second try.
As I said, I took the blade out before I started sanding. So yes, both washers are in place. It is pretty clear it is the G-10. Essentially the cutout for the nested liners is too deep so the G-10 protrudes over the liners more than the thickness of the washer. Instead of riding on the washer, the blade rides on the G-10. After I sanded down the G-10 the problem was mostly solved. But if you compress the handles a little bit the blade still rides on the G-10. On my Lil'T no matter how hard I compress the handle the blade doesn't move as easily anymore but the blade never touches the G-10.
But as the title of the thread says by disassembling the knife and sanding the G-10 down, I could take care of that problem myself, but I still don't know how to adjust were the compression lock engages.

It seems that I found the answer to my question on the bladeforums:
