Hey everyone,
I had a little free time this afternoon and decided to check up on you all and see what's new and exciting. (I haven't been on the "Forum" for a good 4 to 5 months...) I scrolled down the list of topics and saw a lot of names I didn't recognize. I see that KrazieKurtis is back . Sweet. How 'bout Chinnok, Khaz and Java? You sure miss a lot when you're out of commission for a while.
To make a story short, I just got my cast off this past Thursday after breaking the bone behind the little finger on my right hand. (Referred to as a "boxer's fracture." I reall screwed it up, as they had to put a titanium plate and 6 pins into it to straighten it out. Needless to say, I have been VERY grateful to get both my hands back into action. It SUCKS royally to type one-handed, which is where I found myself when I started classes this semester.
But enough rambling! Drop me a line and let me know what's been going on, who's who, and so forth.
Check ya' later,
~Michael a.k.a Spydernut
Dang! It sure has been a long time...
Michael,
I see you haven't changed. How did you do that to your hand dude? Welcome back.

Welcome back, Michael. You'd better use that titanium plate for a folder's handles
Java pops now and then. Nothing about Kahz and Chinook for several months
Did you see the latest goodies from Spyderco?

Hey guys,
Reading your guy's posts got me kinda' misty eyed...just like the old days. Jaxon, you are right on, bro, I haven't changed much.
The tale of my "breakage" is rather embarassing, since I am the one at fault. To make a very long story short, I was DD for a few friends who wanted to go to a Halloween party. While there, I noticed my girlfriend getting rather fresh with a guy she worked with. (Side note: This gal had promised me that if she changed plans as far as a relationship, she'd let me know, etc.) So as the evening progressed, my buddy came up and informed me that my girlfriend had just *ahem* "humped" the fellow co-worker dude. At first I was a little incensed, as I felt that I had been led on and lied to. I eventually cooled down, (there's more fish in the sea, no?) and went home. When we got back to my house, my not-so-sober buddy decided to help me de-stress by dumping a glassful of beer down the front of my shirt. It was 3:00 A.M. and I was covered with beer, my girlfriend was a slut, and I was the fool. I went over and socked our van as hard as I could. Didn't even hear the bone break. Did I feel better after hitting it? You bet. Did it hurt like crazy? Oh yeah...once the shock wore off. Now I have a stiff little finger that may never be quite right. But I use it as a reminder to myself to always think things through before reacting. Live and learn...
Dialex,
Ha ha! My little brother wondered if I was going to be like X-Men's Wolverine. Wonder if it's too late to have some extra hardware installed...
Ted,
Thanks for the update, bro. I have been out of the "loop" for so long, I almost forgot what ATS-34 was.
Well, I have to prepare for classes. You guys take care, and stay safe.
~Michael
PS. Where's Samo? I wanna' tell him that he's got company in the "maimed and wounded" section.

Hey Michael,
Samo's hanging around, sometimes with different usernames.
Sorry about the hand. I know the problem, been there myself. Doesn't pay to use your hand for emphasis or as a hammer. I've done the same and it really hurt for quite a while and as you mentioned, the right pinkie finger will never be quite right. Oh well, that's how we learn, right, but a little dumb.
Cheers,
Jaxon

Spydernut,
Welcome back! I have been doing lots of lurking here, as well. Your heartbreak of a story has prompted me to post again.
I am sorry about your lady-friend, and also about your hand. I had a girlfriend back in college who had "carnal relations" with her ex on Christmas morning - after we had spent Christmas Eve together with her family! I found out about all this from my roomate - after she propositioned HIM as well! (Luckily, my roomie was a stand-up gentleman). I know your pain, and at the risk of sounding insensitive, you are better off without her.
Broke my fingers lots of times (martial arts) never as bad as your injury, tho. A couple of years ago I had to have my wedding ring cut off my broken, swollen, and purple ring finger after a sparring incident. Not fun.
Hey, at least you didn't slice it off with your Spydie!
Take care, and welcome back!
Mike
