If they ever make a movie of "77 Sunset Strip"...
...perhaps Kookie will carry something like this...

(I hope I'm not the only one here old enough to know what I'm talking about.)

LOL - I remember BEFORE TV!!! Listening to "The Lone Ranger" on the RADIO!!!
I also remember my grandmother and aunt coming to our house to watch the "snow" on our TV set waiting for the new TV station to finally come on the air.
The first TV show I remember was "Red Rider and Little Beaver" How many of you remember that one???

Ok, since we've entered the time tunnel... how about Captain Video
The Buster Brown Show... looong before Kermit, there was Froggy the Gremlin!
And loooonger before there was Cheers... there was Duffy's Tavern "where the elite meet to eat".
For more comedy there was, Our Miss Brooks, Topper, and (although it's probably not PC to mention it) Amos 'n Andy. Later came Leave It To Beaver and The Many Live of Dobie Gillis.
For early westerns... Gene Autry, Roy Rogers, Hopalong Cassidy, and Sky King.
Then a little later, Yancy Derringer, Branded, Have Gun Will Travel.
Now The Saint (with a very young Roger Moore) is easy, but does anyone remember I Led Three Lives? Or The Prisoner?
Then again, in this age of cable TV, which I'm doing my level best to avoid, many of these may be still be running somewhere.

I'm 49, so I'm sort of an old guy. I remember watching "Leave It To Beaver" and "Superman". I wonder what Spydie that the Beaver would have carried to get himself in trouble with, and I wonder what Spydie would have been good-enough for Superman?
My guess:
The Beaver...The Dodo.
Superman.....The Chinook.

Deacon,
How old ARE you? The original "The Prisoner" is a 1923 movie!!!
Great series with Patrick McGoohan - No man is just a number. (Mr Steed sure gets around!) I loved Topper also. Leo G Carroll was one of my favorite actors when I was growing up. He headed up U.N.C.L.E. in the '60s.
Back to the Time Tunnel (that was a really mediocre series but still slightly better than Voyage to See What's on the Bottom with the crew of the Seaview analyzing that same 60 Hz waveform on the oscilliscope every week to interpret that episodes emminent threat.
Westerns:
Cheyenne - Clint Walker
Maverick - James Garner & Jack Kelly (Efrem Zimbalist Jr. was in this series immediately before 77 Sunset Strip)
Sugarfoot - Will Hutchins (Kurt Russell was a cast regular )
Bat Masterson - Gene Barry
Rawhide - Clint Eastwood
Wanted - Dead or Alive - Steve McQueen
The Rifleman – Chuck "Almost a 1st Baseman for the Dodgers" Conners
Wagon Train - Ward Bond
Bonanza – This was a Sunday night staple along with...The Walt Disney Show
Detective Shows
Peter Gunn gave Warner Brothers the inspiration for 77 Sunset Strip and they then went on and released:
Bourbon Street Beat set in New Orleans in 1959
Hawaiian Eye from Honolulu also in '59
Surfside Six from Miami Beach in 1960
And before Remington Steele, before Charlie’s Angels there was Honey West female detective and occasional secret agent extraordinaire!
Comedies
The Honeymooners So the classic sitcom!
Hogan's Heroes
The Dick van Dyke Show I had young adulterous dreams about Mrs Rob Petri for years. MTM was sooooo HOT!
The Flying Nun **** has a reservation for Java. Sister Bertrille (Sally Field) may have been even hotter!
Rowan and Martin’s Laugh-In With regulars such as Ruth Buzzi, Arte Johnson, Joanne Worley, Goldie Hawn, and Flip Wilson – "Here come tha comedy!"
The Smothers Brothers The original 1965 series.
Batman - Had to be a comedy with Adam West as Batman – POW! ZONK! BIFF!
And don’t forget prime time cartoon shows with Hanna-Barberra’s creations like Quickdraw "I'll do tha thinin' around here Bobba-Louie!" McGraw, Yogi and Boo-Boo Bear, Jinx, Pixie and Dixie, Snagglepuss, Johnny Quest, Huckleberry Hound, Wally Gator, etc. etc.
My favorite shows were:
The Man from U.N.C.L.E. - Napoleon Solo and Illya Kuryakin do weekly battle against the nefarious agents of THRUSH. Who can remember who starred and what these acronyms stood for?? Spawned a short-lived spin-off, Girl from U.N.C.L.E. starring Stephanie Powers.
The Fugitive - David Jansen in the original weekly Quinn-Martin Production.
Adventures in Paradise What exotic South Pacific port would Gardner McKay sail the Tiki III to for his next adventure.
Mannix Mike Connors in what was considered one of the most violent shows of the late '60s. Tame by today's standards....
Thanks for the stroll down Memory Lane and the Spydercomb is cCL!! Now, perhaps Allen can come up with the inspired artist who sang the song "Kookie, Kookie, Lend me your comb."

It really hurt when I said something to the cute 24 yr old chick at work the other day about "Gilligan's Island" and she looked at me quizzically and said "Huh?" She'd never heard of it.
I think that's just about the oldest I ever felt
