Cartoons again here. :o This time it was "Cars". Wonderful.
It's amazing what Pixar and Disney can do together (remember "Monsters inc.") :)

For any Pitch Black and Chronicles of Riddick fans... I just watched Dark Fury. Its a short animated movie that does a great job of filling the gap between the two movies.. Worth a look for sure.. its only 35 mins though.

Also saw Lady in the Water,, good but not at all what they make it out to be.

And Sunday I watched one of my all time favorite movies.. Braveheart.

Peace

Great movie. Shootout scenes were designed by Andy Mcnab, ex-SAS soldier (author of books B20, Immediate action,...) so no wonder they are so great.

My son got me hooked on these, not just MA movies, but the mysticism etc of the art is amazing.

Hero with Jet Li

House of the flying daggers,

Crouching tiger, hidden Lion.

I did like the Bourne movies too, did not think I would but I did,

I take it that you mean 'hidden dragon'.
Haven't seen hero but the other two are great.

Ok crew. I am bringing this one up so you run and go see "The departed".....

It is absolutely brilliant. Great actors: Nicholson, Wahlberg, Damon, Di Caprio...
Directed by Scorsese, who found the "Flame" again.

A great cop vs bad, vs rats story of 2.5 hours long that you won't want to miss.

A thrill ride like I haven't lived in a theater for the last 2 years. And I go see a movie at least every 2 weeks.

It's incredible. I thought just about month ago how come they don't make movies like Once upon a time in America, Scarface or Goodfellaws anymore...

Well here it is.... Go see THE DEPARTED... Even on full price seat night!!!

Hehe :D

I know you're messin' around Simon. No biggie.

It's just been that I'm replacing my entire kitchen, staining a fence, and trying to get like a million other things done outside before winter sets in. I also workout and do a treadmill daily.

When winter gets here I'll have a bit more time. I do want to see "Click" with Adam Sandler. :D Looks interesting.

Plus, I drive about 50 mins to work daily and I try to get about 7-8 hours a sleep per night.

I saw Sideways the other day. It was very good. I like wine but that guy is something else! Very funny in a sad kinda way, I really enjoyed. Perfect to watch with the girlfriend :)

I also saw Kiss kiss bang bang. Excellent surprise there. Sharp and witty, well written and Robert Downey Jr. is still capable of a good performance! Excellent

I also saw Science of Sleep in theatre. Small independant project. It's a bit artsy and doesn't have the overall quality in writting Eternal Sunshine had. Still a good effort and I thought acting was good. Not worth seeing in theatre but take a look when it's on TV. You may like.

I also saw Poseidon(remake) pass on that one please

Don,t forget, Saw III on Octoebr 27th!

Saw Saw 3 a week ago. Maybe one of the best of the trilogy.

But the one that really got under my skin was Blood Diamond. Not for Di Scrapio, but for the way the violence is represented. How much suffering can human kind inflict to itself.

The up front way the movie shows how Children soldiers are recruted got stock on my mind for weeks. It really makes you think about the impact of what you buy has on people.

Like the caracter of Leo says:

"In America, diamonds are Bling bling but in Africa, it's bling BANG"

That says it all..

One of the very few movies I would like to see again

Take care,

I have to agree on both Movies. Saw III was really good. As well was Blood Diamond. Not a big Dicaprio fan but I think he was awsome and the whole movie really makes you think..

Dont know if its been mentioned already but I enjoyed Casino Royale.

I went in with very low expectations but the pace of the movie kept me on the edge of my seat. Stunts looked great and the plot wasnt predictable.

Thought Daniel Craig did a good job in the role although I liked him in Layer Cake better.

The other movies that I really enjoy are 2 HBO series: Band of Brothers and The Wire. Band of Brothers because its based on historical fact and the characters are real. And The Wire cuz of the police-based storyline & gritty characters. Highly recommend both!

The Descent.

This movie is awesome! Definately not a family flick, or even a flick for anyone who likes watching "normal" movies. The Descent is a horror/ adventure film that is based in the Appalachian Mtns. Long story short, a bunch of girls go spelunking, get trapped, and become prey for unevolved beings that have lived in the cave for centuries. If you've ever seen the movie called "The Cave" with Cole Hauser, it is kind of like that, except has way better acting, a way better story line, and is waaay more scary.

I really enjoyed the movie because I love scary movies (and this one was pretty scary). Plus it just had that "weird" feeling about it that I really like. Also, the entire movie was kind of about caving, which is one of my hobbies, so it worked well.

Check it out if you're in the mood for some blood-curdling fun.

Hey Doc,

Have you seen The Protector? It's a great martial arts movie that shows quite a few different styles. Also, it looks like the hits really hurt, ouch.
