Surfingringo wrote:Wow! I didn't want one until I saw the pic. That knife is beautiful! The reason I got rid of my old LW was the looks and feel of the frcp handle. Sigh...I might have to give this thing a go.

What's the story on the handle? No liners? This knife has bushings?
Looks to me like it is exactly the same as the FRCP just not translucent. So it will probably be different looks but same feel.

I can't tell from the website, is it pinned construction? I know the pivot isn't

Well, it is exactly like my dusk blue LTW except for the handle material and the steel, it was $40 more expensive due to the premium steel. I like the FRN feel better than the FRCP so this one should be a lot nicer. I still like the Manix2 dusk blue LTW I have there is nothing wrong with it; its actually in my pocket right now. I actually use my LTW more than my G10 version.

Another interesting question is whether you will be able to swap the S110V blade into a G10 manix

The blue looks light, not dark. Weird.

I may try to swap it with an M4 one. Tan S110V and blue M4? I think that would be sick

Spyderco's only other two former "Midnight Blue" FRN knives, the ZDP Stretch and Delica (before they went to British racing green as the standard color for that).

It was bugging me until I remembered we had talked about this particular color shade previously...

I ordered two, so one of them may get swapped for a CE S30V blade from my second generation Manix 2 since Kristi says the FRN Manix won't get a CE blade for now.

We'll see. If I do it, I'll definitely do a write up with pics.

I saw an in the wild picture. It is an adjustable pivot. I would be curious about the pivot hole diameter in the blade vs. the G-10 models.

Can you say where, or re-post the image here. I can't wait!

Also, when you say you will fix the clip, will you just swap with another you have or can these be bent carefully into the deep carry configuration?

I have an extra Techno clip I plan to use on mine.

I will continue to look for the picture I saw. Can't remember if it was here or BF or USN or JD, but I saw it late last night.

The clip I will just swap to a Caly style, but I am sure that with some heat and plier a homemade deep carry can be fashioned.
