i realize you may be the wrong person to ask since i think you prefer the mil1 to the mil2 and don't like lightweights, but do you think you'd prefer the military 2 or native chief salt? i think we have similar ergonomic preferences, which is why i ask.

I haven't handled the Military 2 yet. I do love the ergos and feel of both the Military and Native Native Chief, but I think I give the slight advantage to the Native Chief being a bit more slender in pocket and feels like it fits my hand just a bit more comfortably. The "nub/hook" at the butt of the Military is a bit much for me, which I believe the Military 2 has scaled back on. So that's food for thought there too.
Perfect comparison question though, as I was carrying one of my Millie's yesterday.

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??
thanks, rick! i'm struggling deciding which to get first. i'm sure i'll end up with both though. i'm also kind of holding out for the spymyto, so it gives me some time to mull over the production models, and possible wait to see if they are offered in color or steel variations i would prefer.TkoK83Spy wrote: ↑Fri Feb 16, 2024 6:46 amI haven't handled the Military 2 yet. These will be my pocket companions while glamping in North Georgia all next week.

Going out of town for a long weekend in the foothills. Cabin life. I'm taking these 3 with me.
Endela in my right pocket, Military in my back pocket, and the Chef in my bag for when we ultimately encounter dull kitchen knives.

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??
I have been carrying the Spyderco Resilience. Until I save up enough money to get the Spyderco Military, this is what I am going to be carrying. The 4"+ blade is great, a large blade is what I like to carry, as large as I can get away with legally and practically. Small knives have their place also, but for EDC/Tactical, I like a larger blade. I find the HT on the steel to be awesome to retain high sharpness, it was easy to reprofile, although there was some burnt/damaged steel at the edge, but this is normal for mass produced knives, especially at this price point:
