Not a complaint, just an observation and question: did anyone else's Lum Tanto arrive with a very oily blade?
Mine did.

I'm content with my purchase. I got a good sharp knife in a design I admire. I'm certainly not concerned with the shape of the stop pin.

I appreciate Spyderco & BladeHQ giving me the chance to own a model that's been out of production for years.

Wow spyderco quality has really gone downhill...gonna be a looong time before i get anothet.

This liner lock is like sharp! Something that feels like a gas station knife. Its just like a 90 degree edge..drag your finger across it..then pressing it seems to long to close, i have to take my other thumb..two handed to close?? That normal..

Except for long established models, I stay away from Japan and Italy these days. The only thing you can count on from either is unexpected problems, and on top of that they're more expensive relative other countries. The rest of the manufacturing countries are very good, however.

I was very close to buying it until I saw this post. For $250 you expect the knife to be flawless.

Some of you guys pick this knife apart, but in my opinion (for what it's worth), it's not a bad knife at all. Especially looking at it from a collectors point of view. In that respect it is going to be more valuable as time goes on much like the Ayoob. There just has not been all that many made overall.

I’m glad you’re happy with a knife you likely will never use and purposely bought to add to a collection. That’s fine.

For anyone else that plans on actually using the knife and carrying it, the knife is wholly unacceptable as sold at its price.

Sorry folks. By all means send yours back. I can find nothing wrong with mine, in fact it is very well put together and is a fine knife. You may have gotten one that slipped by quality control.

Received mine, and other than being oily, it has none of the problems previously reported and the action is excellent.

It's more of a classic reproduction of the knife, rather than a modern refinement you may expect. I had one of the first BHQ exclusives and it was one of the only Spyderco's I ever sent back for similar concerns and lockup issues.
