Re: Why no lightweight PM2?
Seriously can’t wait for this knife.
I'm happiest with Micarta and Tool Steel.
Top four in rotation: K390 + GCM PM2, ZCarta Shaman, Crucarta PM2, K390 + GCM Straight Spine Stretch.

Re: Why no lightweight PM2?
I still think a PM2 lightweight constructed just like the Para 3 LW just has to be a huge seller...
But:
Wasn´t there something along the lines that the Para 3 LW approach of implementing a comp.lock into an almost linerless FRN handle would be difficult to transfer to the longer and thus more "flexy" PM2?
Top three going by pocket-time (update April 25):
- EDC: Endela SE (K390). Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10), Chaparral SE (CTS XHP)
- Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 2 SE (LC200N), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), Endela SE (K390)

They have a prototype that’s been displayed at quite a few shows at this point. I think the liners are a bit more complete than the Para 3 LW.

Thanks, interesting, did not know that!
And it seems like a sensible approach: Giving a PM2 LW a bit more liners than the Para 3LWs so that the comp.lock works properly but still keeping the knife lighter overall than the G10 PM2.

Re: Why no lightweight PM2?
I'm of the same thinking - the Para3 LW does feel like a special list of engineering goals met, and it makes sense to me that it would serve as a barometer of sorts for a similarly designed PM2 LW... and as others have pointed out, making a linered FRN PM2 with a solid/stable comp lock actually lighter than a G10 PM2 may not be possible.

Re: Why no lightweight PM2?
Alongside the PM2 lightweight, I’d like to see the Para 3 and PM2 LWs design incorporate 2 PB washers. I hope the Para 3 CQI incorporates that. If I get a dead center one in the mail, is favoring the clip side a bit after the first flick. What is worse, is with 2 LWs in a row, I cannot get the knives to not have blade play and be able to momentum shut… both in my 15V and Salt. I have a duplicate 15V that hasn’t been used that is rock tight and will freely open and close but I’m scared to take it apart and sand the inner FRN edges because I don’t think I’ll be able to get it together with the same action without blade play. I’ve never had this happen with dual PB washer Spyderco’s… and I have at least 20 of them now.

Re: Why no lightweight PM2?
Just to clarify, I am very careful with the keyed end of the FRN so it’s not wiggling because of that. I’m sure I’d love a PM2 configured like the Para 3 LW, but please give the thing 2 washers!
