Both are among my favorites.
- For general urban exploits I prefer the Caly 3
- For the general outdoors, I prefer the Caly 3.5
I do like the CF of the Caly 3 and hope for a CF/ZDP sprint run of the 3.5 (even better if the CF were the textured woven twill variety).

I'm just the opposite. I resisted buying the Caly 3 because I felt it was too short. To me, the 3.5 is perfection.
By the way, California state law (the California Penal Code) does not expressly limit blade length to 3 inches, but many, but not all, counties and cities in Caliifornia have local ordinances that do limit blade length to 3 inches.
