I just cleaned them up with dawn dish soap. Which worked pretty well. They were lighter then when I first got it. I treated the Micarta like G10, which meant I got the water to boiling in a pot. Added some Vaseline in random spots that I didn't want to soke up the dye. Did a light blue bath everywhere, then added more Vaseline and dipped the ends into a dark blue bath. The Vaseline was not as effective as I wanted. I wanted more brown in it. But I really like how it turned out. The blue with all the satin exposed is quite handsome.Manixguy@1994 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 04, 2023 6:46 pmReally like the scales Jeff ! Did you do anything special prepping scales before application ? What temp was the Dye ? Buddy Dan
I wasn't concerned if I screwed it up. I would have just dyed the whole thing dark blue. I really like the brown, but a blue Micarta is more interesting to me.
