Re: Flashlights
Gotta love the Emisar D3aa platform. Great little lights with high output.

And a little fun with the auxiliary lights. The kid said to keep the one on the left set up like that because it reminds her of cotton candy haha.

Re: Flashlights
I was a flashaholic for years. Recently I became
a knifeaholic. Knifeaholics are 100 times as fanatical as flashaholics. That said, I like 4sevens and Olight, plus Nitecore , Fenix, Acebeam and a few others. Rechargeable batteries are cheapest in the long run.
Olight Baton 4 is a good carry light, but the magnet on the tail may attract steel keys or other things made of magnetic steel. Their charging system is effortless to use.
My first car was my mom’s 1959 Volkswagen. It had a 6 volt battery!
These days, I can have a flashlight smaller than my index finger that puts out much more light than that old V dub did on high beams!
I’ve got more flashlights than I have Spydercos.
I’m working on the imbalance.
It’s a disease.

Re: Flashlights
Nice lineup! Dig the smaller lights on the right side. Easy to put in your pocket.
Besides a light in my car, these are all my flashlights. The Olight Arkfeld and the Nitecore TIP are the most used. The Tiki I have 2 of and are attached to keychains. The Fenix UC35 I use for Urbexing and stuff. I like the button on the back. The Tiki's I have for many years and will do for most of my use. The Olight is very handy for jobs around the house with the magnet at the back.

I've heard a lot of good things about the Arkfeld. Very tempted to get one myself, as you see I don't have any lights that style.Paul Ardbeg wrote: ↑Sat Sep 27, 2025 12:28 pmNice lineup! Dig the smaller lights on the right side. Easy to put in your pocket.

Those lights at the right end are Wurkkos TS10's. The Ti/Copper and all Copper lights have triple emitters. The black one is a single emitter, a bit more throwy.

Re: Flashlights
nitecore edc27 for me. its so easy to pocket for a long, powerful light

I have the newer more powerful version too, the 29 I think.
Tempted to buy the shorter one too. Love this series. Used to carry the larger Fenix lights as a security guard but these are close enough in brightness while just sacrificing some battery life. With how easy they are to recharge I'm fine with that trade off.

Re: Flashlights
Does it have a decent run time for the high and medium modes? Looks like it according to their specs but real world can be different.

Re: Flashlights
yes. I've been very happy with the run time. I'm coming from 5,000 mah fenix lights so I thought I may miss their excellent battery life, but I still find I have no issues charging the Nitecores about 4 times a year.RugerNurse wrote: ↑Sat Oct 18, 2025 6:15 pmDoes it have a decent run time for the high and medium modes? Re: Flashlights
I'll chime in with about the 27 and 29. The 27 isn't my favorite because of the "software" lockout. I like the manual switch lockout on the 29. To answer the question, run time has never been an issue. When I carry mine, it's when I spend the day doing technical work inside a very dimly lit building. For the most part, I use the lower light modes. I'd guess I could go days between recharging. The bright modes are REALLY bright, and good for illuminating things that might be 100 feet away. When used close up, the brighter modes are blinding. Once I got the 29, it quickly became my go-to.

Didn't own a 27 but thanks to Vivi, I got the 29. (Thanks @vivi) It sits on a shelf near my bed to be put into use as a "thief blinder" if it comes to that. Hard to believe how bright it is. Even its REFLECTED light off the walls of my house is too bright for me, I have to squint. I really like the "one simple button" for the super high mode. That's genius to have a dedicated button for super high.

the dedicated strobe / turbo mode button is one of my favorite things about the series. I've worked a lot of security jobs and the strobe can be a nice in between level of encouragement to get someone to vacate the premises. It's a step up from words but a step down from getting physical.Bolster wrote: ↑Tue Oct 28, 2025 11:31 pmRustyIron wrote: ↑Tue Oct 28, 2025 10:02 pmI'll chime in with about the 27 and 29. I also like there's a shortcut to the lowest mode, holding the taller button half way in for about 1.5 seconds.
Nitecore also has a pretty solid warranty. I had to replace my EDC27 due to issues with one of the buttons and they upgraded me to the UHI version. New unit, no refurb, and another 2 years warranty on the replacement.
The original EDC27's butttons were kind of mushy feeling, but the UHI version has buttons that have a more substantial click to them like the 29.
