Obviously we've not finalized a decision for the above reasons. The only thing that I'd like a clip for is to carry it in my shirt pockets like a pen. I'm enjoying the design. My hands are larger and the larger size of the Manbug is easier for me to handle. That's why I designed it. I wanted a small stout full flat thicker small knife than the Ladybug.

I love the Manbug Sal, the G10 one was my very first Spyderco nine years ago and got me hooked. I know this has been brought up in other discussions previously, but what about a Spyderco-designed dangler clip setup of some sort (akin to the TEC Accessories P3)? That way folks could add a clip to any Manbug (or Ladybug/Jester) and not require any retooling, giving folks the choice to add one or not depending on their preference? I know this discussion is more centered on adding a small wire clip, but having a dangler-style clip gives that extra purchase we lanyard/bead fans strive for (the very reason I add them to mine, to extend my hand’s grip on these little guys) while still giving folks a clip option? I’d personally rather you not mess with success with the current FRN handles, and devise a solution that can be applied across the board to all your Seki LBKs. I dunno, I trust you’ll come up with a winning solution either way! Cheers, Radioactive

Good idea.

As an aside I have found the Lynch dangler clip superior to the P3 in all respects except footprint & price.

I wonder if something like these Lego snap in axle pieces could be made to snap into the lanyard hole?

I remember when the DragonFly was first introduced the Spyderco crew wore them on their shirt lapels at trade shows. We have sold them to clip onto hat brims, shirt/jacket lapels, and naturally watch pockets.

This news is pretty exciting, to me. Since the clip uses the lanyard hole, I wonder if it can be used on earlier Manbugs? I hope it is removable as I just like to drop the knife down in my pocket and rarely use the clip. The only times I use the clips are when swimming or otherwise carrying a knife inside the waistband.

Hi Sal, a new leaf blade Manbug deserves a different color FRN, can you please make it in orange? Totally random request I know, but I'd really love to have an orange FRN one! I know the HAP40 was burnt orange (also a great color), but there's been very few LBKs in safety orange (the orange Ladybugs being either a sprint or an exclusive). Cheers, Radioactive

Thanx RS.

I'd probably leave that for Jeff. We go back more than 20 years so respect is in order. I don't think it needs a color. It's still just a Manbug, evolving as it should. If it's well received, we'll go from there. steels, colors, etc. What I tell my wife, "Whatever you want".

I'm just enjoying the design and I've learned, at my old age, is that many of you have similar questions, so I get to share. Thanx much.

Sorry Sal, wasn’t trying to be disrespectful in any way. I just was hoping for an orange one.

Hi RS,

You're up pretty late. It's late here and I'm on the IsIand. It think if it's well received, Jeff will make sure you get an orange one.

I am very interested in a wire clip if that is doable. Not interested in a Spyderco dangler clip. Those exist.

Orange is a good color. I like orange. I'd take black, gray, or blue, as well. Forest Green would be tops, though.

Forget I asked about a color. None of the orange Seki line has had anything to do with CS previously, so color me confused about why they’d be now reserved solely for a vendor. I swap all my blades around anyway…

Personally I'd love a dark, denim blue, but I understand that's usually reserved for certain steels.

I'm just curious to see what it ends up looking like. The main reason I've avoided the stock Manbug was because of the belly, so a blade that's sort of a midpoint between the wharncliffe and stock version might be more my speed.

Hi RS,

The color isn't reserved. We make orange knives often. I'm just guessing that when the leaf Manbug is released, Jeff will be planning. If he doesn't, we're not above making orange ones.

I’ll take rainbow polka dots if that makes it come to market faster. Rit dye for the win!

I know orange isn't the most popular color, but perhaps a release in black or some other popular color and orange at the same time?
