Great mod, Dan. I always liked the Stretch handle better than the Endura for this reason. Swell over points, all day every day.

I took the jimping off of the handle of my Manix 2 LW with just a bit of sandpaper wrapped around a drill bit (didn't have a power sander at the time). Much more comfortable for me to use without gloves now.
That is interesting, as it is exactly the Stretch I that was my "catalyst" for re-shaping/modding the handles of my Delicas, Enduras, and Manix2 LWs.
The few friends I've let handle my Manix2LW decided it was a big enough improvement, that they asked me to do it to theirs too, and it's now their most carried & used knife.

I used a file and sandpaper to do all the ones I've done.

Go fast, cut twice, measure once......, carry the one..... ;) err, something like that :D

And like JR says,
I've got other friends who LOVE their Spydies just the way they are, and never considered even once there were any issues.
l also say Thanks to Doc, for taking the time to post up this simple work around for any to apply, who might feel it's needed.

Overdone jimping is a bit of a dealbreaker for me which has kept me away from the newer Manixes. The LWs look far easier to mod though.
Yup, took about 5 minutes.
I'm happiest with Micarta and Tool Steel.

Top four in rotation: K390 + GCM PM2, ZCarta Shaman, Crucarta PM2, K390 + GCM Straight Spine Stretch.

Any chance you can share a pic of your modded Manix2LW? What'd you do?

It bothers me a little that spyderco will entertain all sorts of (sometimes ridiculous) requests but refuses to give us a second handle option for the endura and delica.

I've got to agree with this. I've avoided delicas and enduras for years, after trying them long ago, for this very reason...not comfortable in my hand. Maybe this mod is the solution. Maybe time to try a new Delica and Doc Dan mod it.
