Voted under $100, probably is around $100 but also have extra expenses getting Spyderco's from US to EU, shipping and taxes and on the other hand my love for FRN models and occasionally getting good deals on used blades will make the average around $100..
(will also help that I'm starting to appreciate the Byrds more)
Ok, changed vote to $100-150, figured the average will probably be closer to $110-120 than $100..

Re: Your Average Spyderco Knives' Purchases in USD
I'm guessing that the average for the 13 years I've been collecting them has to be somewhere around the $200 mark, but whether just above, or just below, I'm not sure and am afraid to find out. Average for new ones would probably be less than for older collector's pieces and "embellished" ones.

A bunch of LadyBug, ManBug, DragonFly and others with FRN handles helped push down my average since 2012.If I excluded them from my Spyderco acquisitions my average would go up to $178 instead of $151!The Deacon wrote:I'm guessing that the average for the 13 years I've been collecting them has to be somewhere around the $200 mark, but whether just above, or just below, I'm not sure and am afraid to find out. Average for new ones would probably be less than for older collector's pieces and "embellished" ones.

I just ran my numbers, and the average for mine was about $130.

About half the votes are at the $100.00-149.99 range with the Under $100.00 and $150.00-$199.99 ranges about equally on either side of it.

Re: Your Average Spyderco Knives' Purchases in USD
Thanks for a good poll. It motivated me to do some analysis of my Spyderco folders. I did not include my fixed blades (mostly mules) but their average would probably be around $100 also.
My actual average cost for Spyderco folders is $106.60. A few days ago I voted for the $100.00 to $149.99 category, but actually thought my average cost was closer to the top than the bottom.
My cheapest was a Super Blue Lady Bug at $38.94 and my most expensive was a Black Damascus Nishijin Glass Stretch at $216.95.
Enjoy,
Bill Maier
