Making domestic production cheaper and more attractive.
I know the dollar is weak but I thought the main reason for production in Taiwan was to keep production costs and overall price lower than that of what it would cost to manufacture here. The CF Sage was an extremely good bargain for what it was. Guess I just figured the ti Sage's price point would have been a bit lower, especially compared to a ti Millie's price point given the variables.

Is the RIL Military going to be a regular catalog item or a sprint run?

If my memory serves me correctly, the Ti Military's retail price is $349.95.

I think there is a problem somewhere. Hate to burst anyone's bubble, but there was a mis-marked price on a dealer newsletter a while back... it had the correct dealer price, but incorrect retail price. That's probably where this aberration came from.

JBE, you were right to reason and compare the cost of the Taiwan Ti Sage with the Golden made Ti Millie. Remember what Dad used to say... "If it's too good to be true, it probably is."

He corrected his price, but knowing Jeff I know he will honor the pre-orders with the wrong price. I'll probably ask him to add a couple more knives to my order when the Ti Millie is shipping so he does not take a loss overall.

The picture on the Cutlery Shoppe site is that of a prototype, the production model will be plain edge.

weight?

Post by tenaciousj »

does anyone have any speculations as to what the Ti Millie might weigh? i am very fond of the light weight spydies (the g-10 millie being the heaviest i own). i found the original manix to be too heavy/bulky, and am frankly very pleased with the FRN models (new stretch) so i am trying to decide whether to pull the trigger on this new millie. the g-10 millie is worth the little bit of extra weight because it is so proportional and carries nicely so i am hoping that the Ti model wont be too much heavier.

I imagine it will weigh every bit of what a Sebenza weighs and its a little larger, large Sebenza's weigh 4.7 oz or 133g. Depends on how thick the slabs end up being i suppose, I like me a knife with some heft! :D
