Tattoos kick ***. In high school/very early college I played in a metal band and saw quite a bit of them. I thought about getting one for the longest time, but it never really materialized. Partially because I'll (hopefully) be on my way to becoming a physician in the next year or two, and mainly because I couldn't think of any "reason" to get one. I'm of the persuasion that it should "mean" something if you're to get it. A lot of people that I knew/know could tell you stories about each and every one that they had.
If I were to get one, I probably would have gotten the "sleeve" style: upper shoulder down to the wrist. However, those are very expensive, and it'd be hard to think of something that "meant" a lot to me but was also that expansive. In my "band days" I DID see the most bad-*** tattoo ever. If I recall correctly, it was a guy who had a "sleeve" on his right arm. It was basically an image that looked something like this: his whole arm was devoured in flames, and in between the flames you saw rip marks and part of a dragon or some kind of reptillian beast. It was essentially a dragon trying to claw its way out of the guy's arm, surrounded by flames. Incredibly well-done, colorful, etc. I forget what the guy's name (and his band's name) was, but it was quite a sight.
:D
PS: Wallace - you look like Kerry King from Slayer (but with a LOT more hair).
After a Martial Brother mentioned a conspicuous absence of something in my growing ink collection, I decided to take the plunge once more.
Ascending Dragon on the right shoulder, now the Descending Tiger on the left.

Tonight my Lady got started on her new tattoo. It will be beginning on her arm and will go...well, we're not sure yet. We know that it will wrap onto the upper chest and over the shoulder starting down the back, but from there? It might go to the knee before it is all said and done, completing what is essentially a half-body tattoo. This is the first phase - the next visit will provide the shading and finish out the lines. Three hours of work, thus far.
I think tattoos are hot, so I'm a lucky guy... :D
