How dare you hijack the Tang thread!!!d.g.g wrote:I think Sebbies are cool. It seems that you can easily take them apart and play with them and fiddle with them. They are well made of good materials. Cool folks own Sebbies.
Spydies are lean, mean cutting machines good for working stiffs like me that would rather spend there money on more important things than knives.
If I'm going to spend $500 - $1,000 then price I'm going custom with all the uniqueness, beauty and fit and finish that you can only really get with a custom.
But this type of discussion is fun as it is what makes a horse race.
...wait just a minute, you mean this is a Sebenza thread?
I've never handled a Sebbie, but I do agree they look nice, and are well built from what I can tell. The Ti handle is a big plus, it makes me get the jones for the Ti Lil Temp that we may see in the future.
I just don't have that kind of money to throw down on a knife, but that's just my case. That's why I like Spyderco soooo much, you get quality materials and production at a 4th of the price some places charge for the same stuff.
Nothing wrong with a Sebbie at all, if I had the cash I would pick one up. I love the handle graphics, and higher grade material. But if you want that stuff, you gotta pay.
Here is the bottom line:
I don't think the higher price tag will make it cut any better than my Spyderco( and it's probably not as eronomic either
