Yea, I hear that man. The back lock is probably my all-around favorite locking mechanism because I can one-hand open and one-hand close very safely. Put my 1st or 2nd finger in the spyderhole, disengage the lock with my thumb, and the knife is back in my pocket.yablanowitz wrote: ↑Thu Sep 02, 2021 8:14 amI dislike the "drop shut" feature that so many here find desireable. I don't want a razor sharp blade swinging free regardless of handle design, choils or any other feature. YMMV.

I'm happiest with Micarta and Tool Steel.
Top four in rotation: K390 + GCM PM2, ZCarta Shaman, Crucarta PM2, K390 + GCM Straight Spine Stretch.

You folks do realize that there is more than one way to close a compressions lock, right? It seems like every time this comes up, the conversation is about repositioning your grip. Which, by the way, you do with each lock to close the knife fully. The safety/security thing really comes down to personal experience/preference/dexterity you have with any given lock.
Just for reference, the three ways I close the compression lock,
- from hammer grip, you can use your thumb to disengage the lock, let it drop on your index finger. This is really no different than a back lock.
- from a pinch grip, you can use your middle finger to disengage the lock, which requires the least amount of repositioning of the grip.
- from a pinch grip, you can use your index finger, which is the way most think of when closing the compression lock
- I guess you can also go with two hand closing, but who has time for that...

Interesting that No + Maybe = Yes (as of this post)

No: I would rather have the liner lock for the weight and price differences.
Would love to see a K390 Millie though! K390 with some kind of liners and clip options would be great!!

So it goes.

At this point, it would be cool to find a G10 military, which has been an impossible task here in Europe (without much explication, unless I missed something).
