If this isn't a "casual bombshell" statement, I don't know what is! :D :D :Dsal wrote:Hi Klown, Scroop,

FYI, we've got G-10 versions in-the-works in Super Gold.

I'm holding out for the Delica 6. It's rumored to be made out of lasers.

Agreed, and I have recorded it as such!SpyderNut wrote:If this isn't a "casual bombshell" statement, I don't know what is! :D :D :D
I'm in for any Delica steel sprint.
Re: Endura 5 ever coming out?
I like that idea Holland.
I think the Delica (I guess it applies as well :p) is perfect as is. Only thing I'd probably add is a choil similar to the Stretch. Not really deep but it's there for a little extra security.
As far as the Sprint goes...I'm definitely buying 2 if it'll be available on the Delica :D

I am ok with adding a choil to the E/D line as long as it does NOT take away any of the current cutting edge.. I prefer the cutting edge go to the handle.. Like the Cento3.. Every knife does NOT need a choil.. JMO!! John :)

Re: Endura 5 ever coming out?
Is Super Gold also referred to as Kingami, as in wrapped in golden paper? Is it a Hitachi steel like Super Blue and ZDP-189?
Will Super Gold be a laminate in these applications for Endura/Delica/etc.?
Also, sounds to me like many people asking for pointier blade and a choil just need to pick up a Stretch, not request modification to the Endura or Delica... JMO.

SG is a powdered steel made by Takefu (VG-10).

Maybe the color of the G10 will be a goldish, yellowish type of color to compliment the SG? Kinda how the Dove Gray complemented the SB :p

Yeah, love it for the cutting edge. I mostly meant a gentle dip in the handle(moreso than now) for the pointer finger to go. :cool:jmh58 wrote:I am ok with adding a choil to the E/D line as long as it does NOT take away any of the current cutting edge.

Re: Endura 5 ever coming out?
Some random thoughts improving on Delicas and Enduras:
1. NO CHOILS!
2. Please don't add any choil whatsoever.
3. Also, I don't like any break in the cutting edge, like the little cutouts where people like to put their fingers forward of the guard.
4. Straight, unbroken cutting edge, all the way back to the guard like the Tenacious and others in the budget line.
5. And lastly, NO CHOILS!

Re: Endura 5 ever coming out?
Takefu uses the name "Super Gold" to refer to their PM line of steels, which are identified by their SG numbers. According to Zknives, SG1 is a PM steel made by Takefu and used mainly in Japan, and SG2 is made by Kobelco Steel in Japan using PM technology. "Apparently Kobelco Steel R2 steel is supplied to Takefu, which then sells it under SG2 name. Used by Shun, Fallkniven and a few other makers." Working hardness up to 64HRC. Quit popular, high end alloy. (Known Aliases of SG2: 3G, MC63)
Edited to include graph showing both SG1 and SG2. This Zknives comparison chart seems to show very little difference between these two Super Gold steels.

^^^^^That ! And don't ruin it with a choil.Maybe a pointy tip...I am allready preparing a special account.Holland wrote:I will definitely be buying the sprint is it comes as a delica as well.
The only way I would change the design would be to add an internal stop pin to eliminate vertical play

Re: Endura 5 ever coming out?
I'm torn on this issue (Though I'm likely biased since I seem to be very lucky in getting backlocks from Spyderco that are completely free from play...my Stretch is like a vault). An internal stop pin would undoubtedly be an improvement but would drive the cost up somewhat for sure and I sort of question the logic in driving the cost up (And therefore accessibility) in the bread and butter lineup.Holland wrote: The only way I would change the design would be to add an internal stop pin to eliminate vertical play
Maybe a stop pin on the normal D5/E5 and a separate linerless D5/E5 "Lite" with 1 piece molded handles for the simplicity fans (And therefore cheaper due to the simplicity...something like the current Salt line or D3/E3) would be a good way to keep everyone happy.

Here is my color suggestion for the G10/SG STEEL models:

The FRN/HAP40's, a number of members requested "burnt orange". That's cool, but charcoal/bluish grey would be KILLER :D

I really like that blue. Would be a nice change from the smurf blue that's been used so far.FCM415 wrote:Here is my color suggestion for the G10/SG STEEL models:
