I am shocked to hear this. I didn't open mine yet. To my huge surprise my knife came in sealed box. I remember that Spyderco used to do this years ago. But The box dated 10/14 (JN).
Did anybody else receive a knife in sealed box?

If I remember correctly, the sealed boxes are an Amazon thing.

I recently bought one from Amazon as well and it came with the box taped/sealed shut.

Yeah that's what I was trying to do this year as well. What happens when you buy a production folder on the first of the month and then some amazing crazy awesome sprint drops? I'll tell you what happens. You break your own rules and buy two knives that month!
Most recently acquired: Military 2, Paramilitary 2 Tanto x2, YoJUMBO, Swayback, Siren, DLC Yojimbo 2, Native Chief, Shaman S90V, Para 3 LW, Ikuchi, UKPK, Smock, SUBVERT, Amalgam, Para 3 CTS-XHP, Kapara, Paramilitary 2 M390
Grail Paramilitary 2 M390 X 2! ACHIEVED!!

Just one  that would be amazing, holy smokes I haven't even made it through the first day of 2015 and already have three new ones headed my way, I seriously think I may need an intervention.

Ok, I'll allow one emergency purchase. But it has to be a **** good reason, and I have to feel guilty about it afterwords!

I've been fighting the urge to get a Swick and a Tasman for a few days now. I mean, I'm going to buy them eventually, and they aren't that expensive...and I did just get a better paying job...OH SCREW IT this was a stupid idea. Let's break some records! Woohoo 2015!

I did alright this last year, I ended up with 4 new Spydies:

1. Endura Super Blue Sprint
2. Southard
3. Peter Herbst Aluminum
4. Rubicon

Between the PPT Sprint, Mules, and any undisclosed Sprints I imagine 2015 will be just as good.

Welcome to the 5 or less club! When you don't buy many, you make 'em count. A very very nice haul you had.

I've been dreading counting them up... but here goes...

G-10 Dragonfly
Swick3
Green CE Tenacious
S110V Mule Team 18 (X2-one for someone else)
SE Pacific Salt
Foliage Green Paramilitary D2 (used)
Tan Manix2 M4 (used)
BRG Endura ZDP-189
Manix2 S110V
Dragonfly2 Super Blue
G-10 Cat 440C
Foliage Green Paramilitary2 Elmax
CF Manix2 XL S90V (X2-only one for me)
Gray Manix2 Cru-Wear (X2-just one for me)
PSF27 Mule Team 19 (X2-kept one)
Yellow PE H1 Dragonfly Salt
Swick4 (X2-kept one)
Foliage Green Military D2 (previously owned :) )
PE Manix2 HG 145CM Pilot Run - 50 Piece (previously owned)
Lt Wt FRN Native5
Ti Damascus Delica4
D'Allara SE Rescue (!) (used)

So the total is 27, but I just bought 22 for myself (ultimately didn't pay for the other 5 but was definitely a facilitator :D  ) and only 18 brand new -- so I was a little uncertain if the OP meant BNIB, new to me or what, so I voted over 20. In any case, I think I've sampled most of the steels and materials and styles I'm interested in for now so I'm definitely going to taper off abruptly and hope to buy just maybe one per quarter this year :spyder: :( :spyder:

Nice! A D'allara drop point was one of my finds this year. Glad to see these getting into appreciative hands.

I'm very impressed with the D'Allara Rescue and have gotten surprisingly fond of the naked BB lock already :) (Find it easiest to operate with the point of my thumb while closing blade with index finger.) I really liked the looks of the drop point much better and am on the lookout for one, but I don't think the Rescue can be beaten for a heavy duty SE.

The BBL on the D'Allara is the best, smoothest implementation of the lock I've ever handled. I'm not sure why, but it just seems so much easier and smoother to disengage than my Dodos or Manixes, even though the lockup is every bit as solid. Obviously the ball is a bit larger on the D'Allara, but I wonder if there's something else different about the geometry of it. I wish my smaller BBLs were as smooth because the only knock I have against the D'Allara is it's a bit of a tank to EDC for me.

I've never heard such nonsense in all my days- Purchasing of Spydercos is not something that needs controlling, but something that should be indulged in with reckless hedonistic abandon....Like running through a lawn-sprinkler in the middle of summer.
:p

And remember- You might be able to stop the addiction any time you want but rehab is for quitters :spyder:
