My girlfriend dropped my dragonfly on her foot. I had recently cut my finger myself so I had super glue near by and quickly closed the wound. It's been a year and she still has a scar. Badass.
One thing is for sure, spyderco makes some sharp knives.
Current favorite: Manix 2 with carbon fiber scales and cru-ware.

I don't drop my knives...well, I suppose I have once (Several hundred feet), but at least the knife in question was closed lol. I've also only cut myself once with one of my Spyderco knives, though it was inconvenient because I was 100 feet up a tower, and I sliced the back of my thumb quite deeply...clean through my heavy leather welding gloves. They used super glue and tape to patch it up instead of stitches because of the location.

A sharp knife won't tear the tissue as much so it should heal better for sure.
