hi.
recieved a few new spydies today. one of them was a superblue stretch.
i always inspect box and knife very good before i even deploy the knife. i felt that there was something odd when i pulled out the bubble wrapped knife from the box.
there was no clip on it, i checked it with a little magnifier around the screw holes and as far as i can see there has never been a clip on the knife.
anyone else got a new spydie and there was no clip on it?
and do ya think i can mail spyderco and order a new clip?
no clip with my new stretch.

To answer your questions, no it's never happened to me, and yes you can certainly order a new clip. Certainly strange, did you get the Stretch from a dealer or second hand? I wouldn't think it would be possible to determine if a clip had been there by looking at the holes.

Re: no clip with my new stretch.
i inspected the knife when i pulled it out of the bubblewrap and there was no fingerprints or anything on the knife. there is almost always a small, dunno what to call it in english. but its like a little burr around the edge of the screw hole. those burrs gets damaged when installing a clip. its easy to see if u use a magnifier.
the hole in the frn is not perfectly aligned to the threaded hole in the liner either. the screw will leave thread marks in the hole, a clip leaves more marks then u think :p
i did get the knife from a dealer. sent them a email about this and i guess i just have to wait and see what they say. i have spare clips laying around but its only black ones.

Re: no clip with my new stretch.
The super blue stretch came with a black clip. I hope your dealer takes care of you. Seems like something that should not easily make it through inspection. Sorry to hear that your knife came without a clip.
