Hi Brian, no that was just my goofy mistake last time I put the scales back on. Cuscadi mailed me the scales and I installed them myself. Recently I took them off to switch the clip position back to tip up (I had them made tip down originally, before I learned about proper deep carry clips) and didn't have another Native nearby when I reinstalled them. You must have been good at that Sesame Street game about one of these things being different from the other! Cheers, Radioactive :)

Still a better deal than most places. I was going to post about the availability but forgot my login password at the time.
The Spyderco Sale at Knifeworks ended recently. I noticed the price on the Worker increased also.

Donut wrote:Yeah, it's definitely smooth, but not the smoothest finish I've seen. That's a good point, Roman, the Caly has a slightly smoother finish than the Dodo as well.

This is definitely NOT easy to photograph how smooth something is. I bet the smooth carbon fiber has some variation from Japan to US to Taiwan.

You guys are probably right, as I don't have any of those models to compare it to. :)

It's funny how getting a new model can change your opinion. :)

I always figured the Walker was the smoothest one I had felt. I haven't carried it for a while, but now it doesn't feel like the smoothest I've felt. =\

As promised, here is a picture of my Worker Lockbar.

Brian,
You confused me. Which one is the smoothest now: Walker, Worker, Native or something else?
BTW, beautiful scales on that knife above.

I will double check them when I have time.

I think it still goes from Smoothest: Walker, Caly, Dodo

They are all on the smooth side, and the Dodo is slightly less smooth. The gap between the Walker and Caly are very slight.

The walker is textured, but I think all the ups and downs are slightly more smooth than the Caly, but the Caly has more shallow ups and downs.

Brian,
I am sorry. I misunderstood you. I thought that you are talking about locks.

Received my Native this past week from Howes! Don't know if it'll knock the Forum Native out of the pocket but we'll see!

Also got a nice little gift from Jim as well, they threw a round pewter Spyderco bead in with my knife :D

Oops, looks like I missed your question Roman! I only have 2 CF and 2 forum Natives now, one of each as a user and a backup for both. Have to save for all the other high priced Spydies coming our way hopefully before the end of the year: Rubicon, Slysz Bowie and LW Native 5 of course! How bout you? Cheers, Radioactive :)

the same two of each. No plans to buy Native5 LW at this time. But will be interesting in sprints with steels, which I didn't try yet.

Yup, super excited to see the sprint/exclusive steel offerings, although I'll profess all I really want to see right now is S110V. I've noticed that certain models like the Native 5 and Domino are sticking with using either Crucible CPM or Carpenter CTS steels and not interchanging between the two companies when sprints or exclusives are offered. So maybe we'll see an M4 lightweight Native 5.

At the $75-$80 price point, I'm not sure you'll be able to resist buying the first release though Roman! You know, just to have one in the car... :)

You are killing me. I never thought about this. I really do not need second knife for my car. I have my original Native there. I should try to convince my wife that she needs a knife in her car and give her mine. Than I really need a new knife and what can be better than Native5 LW with toothy edge :)

I've been on KC's pre-order list since January (they were the first to take pre-orders) and was told just today they would have none until the end of the year. Really?! Now I have one on the way from KW (which has always treated me right). Thanks for the heads-up.
