Weekend in the hospital

#1

Post by J Smith »

My wife is there now with my son Tyler. He is a free bleeder and has a port implanted that he has factor injected into every other day.

He got up yesterday morning with a high fever and we took him to UT hospital, only one in TN that has a Hemophilia doctor. They done tests and found that a infection has formed in the port. They are going to run anti biotics though it for 3 days.Doctor that done the opperation to put in this port said that the antibiotic treatment only works about 50 % of the time.If it does not work he will have to have the port removed and a new one put in on the other side.

I hate it for him,hes 6 and if they have to replace this port it will make his 4 th.

To beat it all I can't get off work tonight so I will have to go up there in the morning.

Please keep him in your prayers today.Thanks.

My thoughts and prayers are with your family tonight. Sorry to hear about this, no young child should have to endure anything. There is too much of that when you get older. Take Care Jeff!!!

My thoughts and prayers will be with your family Jeff.

Strange how every time I start letting my little aches and pains get me down, something like this comes along to show me how insignificant they are, compared with the trials some must face.

I'm sorry to hear about this. Hopefully he will recover quick and the antibiotic treatment does it's job.

BTW: do you mean hemophilia with 'free bleeder'?

Our Father who art in heaven hallo it be thy name thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our traspasses as we forgive those who traspass against us. Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil, for thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory for ever and ever. AMEN

Jeff, my thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family. My little girl was in the hospital for over a week right before Thanksgiving, so I know how draining it can be on you, your wife, and your son. I hope that your son Tyler has a quick recovery and is back home soon.
