Regarding the new deeper choil version Stretch (from Sal today on BF):
Sal Glesser wrote:We're working on a modification for the Stretch. We've created the design with a deeper finger choil, more like the Caly series. Many of our customers felt it would be better if it were a tad deeper. I also feel that way. We're going to make a slab version (as I remember it's coyote brown G-10) first to make sure it works before changing the mold. Once the mold is changed, we can try other colors. The different colors on our Endura's and Delica's seem to be well received.

This is good news. More brown and a ZDP model to top it off. Thanks Sal.

Now I'm wondering what coyote brown looks like. Is that the same as the Southard brown?

I believe so, the color of the Southard, Nilakka and the recent Calypso sprint, etc. although those say in the catalog "earth brown" or just "brown". Googling "coyote brown G10" brings up both colors identical to these knives but also some lighter, almost tan shades. I certainly hope it'd be the same as these others!

The Coyote from Halpurn is a lot lighter than the brown of the S35VN Para2 (and I like it better). I'd love to have a trial sprint of the new Stretch in Coyote G-10 !!! If this comes available, I'll be sitting with my finger on the order button around the clock

K-390 on hand: Mule Team 17, Police 4 G-10, Endela (burlap micarta), Endela backup, Endura (canvas micarta), Straight Stretch (now blade-swapped with G-10 Stretch), Delica Wharncliffe, Dragonfly Wharncliffe, & Dragonfly Wharncliffe shorty mod
Note to self: Less is more.

Yeah I would be hoping for lighter as opposed to the brown on the knives you mention. I seem to have a fetish for tan so the closer I can get to that the happier I am.

I thought that the new Stretches were going to be CF scales? Has this changed? Not a fan of Coyote Brown at all.......might have to rethink that purchase, :(

(I tried to link the original posting from the bombshell thread but am not sure how to do this but it would be from Post 1219)

Hopefully a Sprint will be made of the new Stretch in a more attractive colour than Coyote Brown. If there isn't then I guess I'll have to wait until a Sprint version is made with CF or an attractive colour of G10.....the only other alternative would be to RIT dye the brown G10 to black or maybe a dark blue.

The Southard scales are ugly as ****.......IMO the colour of baby poop. This was my letdown of the day and unfortunately for news that had previously had me excited and eagerly awaiting the release of the new Stretch. Hopefully the original bombshell from Sal is the more accurate one.

You can't go wrong with CF. Why do you think a Black Southard was created? I would be willing to bet it was because a large segment of collectors can't stand the brown colour of the original.

Ok.....I'll stop my whining now.....soon....(edit) and hope that a CF Stretch makes itself available - even if a brown version is released first. If that is the case then I will have to just wait that much longer for my new Stretch...........'dramatic sigh'.
